Hi, my name is Lisa Merton and I design Couture wedding gowns, inspired by different eras and unique cultures from around the world, using rare vintage Japanese kimonos and obis, beautiful Indian saris, luxurious silks and delicate European laces. My label Culture Bridal Couture (formerly known as Culture Shock) is based in Sydney, Australia, and has been evolving since 2001. Every now and then, I arrange photo shoots to create beautiful images for my website and magazine campaigns.
The video seen here is from two separate photo shoots we did, both with the talented Dario Gardiman as our photographer, and filmed by videographer Alex Zar. At one location, Boronia House, we went for a sensuous 1930’s inspired theme featuring our amazingly tall blonde model, with lots of fabulous accessories including jewellery by Tessarella House, Stephanie Browne, and a very strong hair and makeup look evoking that very romantic and strongly feminine era.
At the other location, being Dario’s photographic studio, we went for a softer version of the vintage-inspired look, with the 30’s, 40’s and 50;’s being our references, and had great fun with our gorgeous brunette model. I hope you enjoy the video. xx Lisa

Ms Gingham says: I love a behind the scenes video and this one really puts a smile on my face. The gowns are so beautiful. Slinky, feminine and sexy to boot! I’m swooning over the “mini dress” … gorgeous!!! Today I am announcing my BIG NEWS… Culture Bridal Couture is taking a break! After 10 years in business, I have decided to take a year off to study, travel overseas, and spend time with my family. Therefore, we will not be taking any more couture gown orders for 2011 or 2012. My team and I have thoroughly enjoyed creating so many unique wedding gowns over the past decade, and we wish to thank each and every bride that has embraced our designs – it’s been an amazing adventure indeed! Culture Bridal is holding a sample sale before their break. Go to their sale blog to find out more.
