I love the unique style of the bride and groom in today’s Summer inspired wedding. It feels like I’m transported to a tropical island, but instead we’re just taking a little trip to Noosa to share in the beautiful wedding of Holly and Mat!
Holly recalls the funny way they came to be. “We met at work, he lied about his age and told me he was five years older so I would go out with him. It wasn’t until six months later, I caught sight of his driver’s licence and discovered the truth. I was 28 and he was only 22!”
Photos today are by James Day. I love how James has captured the vibrancy and life of today’s celebration, the resort feeling and the joy of Holly, Mat and their guests.
The days before the wedding were not without adventure. Holly recalls,”I very nearly didn’t make it to the wedding. I choked on a prawn two days prior, which got lodged in my esophagus and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I had to have surgery to remove it, and was only released the day before.”
Holly and Mat were married at Beach Road Resort, Noosa North Shore.
Of their wedding style, Holly says, “Our theme was ‘Sunset at Cafe del Mar’. We wanted modern, relaxed, fun with an ‘Ibiza’ feel.”
Holly wore a gown designed by Isabelle McDell Designs ( [email protected]) For her walk down the aisle, Holy says “My younger sister Jamie (who is about to release her first single with EMI) wrote a song for us and performed on the beach with her guitar.”
Holly, a graphic and interior designer ([email protected]) styled and planned the event herself. From decor and invitations to decorations! The floral arrangements were styled by Twig and Grace.
The groom was outfitted with pieces from Zara.
The wedding was all in the one location. Holly explains, “All our guests stayed in villas at the Beach Road Resort. We had our reception around the pool. The next day we had a ‘day after brunch’ with Bloody Marys, Rose, croquet and bocce. It was perfect! Noosa Event Hire and Spoon Fed Catering went above and beyond to make the day go so smoothly. Flawless setup, service and friendly staff”
The guests were important to the newlyweds. Holly remarks “I loved having family and friends there, who travelled from overseas to share our special day.”
Congratulations on your marriage Holly and Mat! Thank you for allowing us to share your wedding day on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to James Day for sharing today’s images.
That is the most divine bridal gown! …& it looked like it was such a gorgeous day…
