I have spent the week watching the gorgeous new photos unfold of the new season of bridal gowns in New York. Although they won’t be available for many months (and some not in Australia) I thought it would be nice to have a sneak peek at what will be walking down the aisles across the world soon and some of the trends that might be reflected in our own designer’s styles. Here is a sneak peek of my favourites, but for more, visit Brides.
Trends I saw and loved from this week’s bridal week are
– Different necklines! Classic strapless is never going away, but I loved seeing more V necklines, more straps and even off the shoulder beauties.
– Sleeves- From elegant illusion necklines at Marchesa to full length lace sleeves at Romona Keveza, this season is all about elegance
– Voluminous detail – I loved the almost architectural style detailing some of the designers used on bodices
– Royal Style – Kate and William’s wedding is going to have a big impact on weddings and it started with bridal week. Long sleeved gowns, high necklines, tiaras – interesting and beautiful interpretations of what the future Princess may wear down the aisle
– Blushing Pink – Spring bridal week always brings out a lot of colour, but this year it seemed that blush pink was in favour! From the blush pink sash to Vera’s charcoal gown, to Monique’s pink, ruffly ball gown and Badgley Mischka’s taupey pink textured looks.
– Subtle prints and embroidery – Spring is definitely in the air with spring patterns and blooms adorning skirts and ballgowns touched with springs of nature inspired details.

WOW!! Incredible – I love NY Bridal Fashion Week!!
Beautiful dresses, but I certainly hope you have permission to copy these. Brides say strictly no republishing without permission, and NYFW are wolves that will come after you!
Hi Monique ,
Brides have given me permission!
Regards, Ms Polka
Astonishing!
