A soft dreamy colour, flattering to all and oh, so feminine!
Combine with ivory and cream
– With watery greens and blues
– With pearl grey and ivory
– With raspberry red and ivory
– With Spring Green and white
– With Watermelon Pink and ivory
– With Lilac and deeper blue
– With Zesty Orange and ivory
– With ivory and touches of Pale Apricot
– With Mint Green and Azure Blue
– With Emerald Green and ivory
– With touches of Midnight Blue and ivory
– With taupe and cream and ivory
– Aquamarines, pearls – both freshwater and cultured, silver, platinum
– A sea theme with sand dollars, white sea shells, sea glass, white coral, white/ivory accessories, glass candlesticks with white or Hydrangea Blue candles, white washed wood
– Armfuls of Hydrangeas everywhere, moss in distressed terracotta pots, moss balls suspended from the rafters with blue ribbon, white linen, blue napkins, vintage cut glass perfume bottles in blue scattered on the tables, white crockery with blue edging
– Lichen covered stones and branches, pale grey plants such as ‘air’ (Tillandsia) plants with soft grey leaves and succulents as a sculptural element for your table decorations, pale blue tablecloths and crockery, add in lots of silver with candlesticks, charger plates, bowls piled high with white sugared almonds
– Pale blue hydrangeas, love in the mist, ivory roses and peonies, dusty miller, stephanotis, hypericum berries, hyacinths, pale blue irises, forget me not, lily of the valley, white nerines, navy blue berries
– Think crockery in patterned blue – polka dots, vintage with birds or flowers or if you want to be really fancy – Limoge with platinum edging
– Invitations – kept fairly plain so as not to look too feminine and over-done – with a simple design, letterpress, lined envelopes with a darker blue or another colour in your palette
– Use this beautiful blue as part of a nautical theme – with orange and taupe, with the occasional touch of Milk Chocolate as your colour palette – in stripes, bunting, accessories, all by the water with an ocean view and a bleached wooden deck and jetty to wander on with drink in hand
– Decorate your reception room as you would a room in a house, but with more of everything. On entrance tables group objects such as silver edged mirrors, photos in silver frames, special books, vases of flowers, groups of pale blue candles. On the dining tables, group blue candlesticks, flowers in blue and white, collections of old blue bottles, special vintage objects
– For your buffet table find old hydrangea blue or white glass cake stands, compotes, milk glass dishes and fill with white sweets, embellish with blue ribbon and tags

It’s really a nice collor for a wedding!
Your blog is very beautiful 🙂
This is the colour of my wedding! I’m going to match it with lilac and deep blue… Keep up the fantastic inspiration Polka!
I really like the pairing of hydrangea blue with zesty orange and ivory.
My favorite flowers and color scheme . . . Bravo!
This is one of my favourite colours at the moment, it seems to be making an appearance in lots of autumn weddings as well!
I like the crockery idea. Like the poster above said, this color can go with at least a couple seasons…awesome pick.
This has been my favourite shade of blue since I was a teen & will be the central colour of my summer with cream & cherry red highlights.
I was really struggling to find a suitable dress for a 40 something first time bride that would suit a summer garden wedding when I fell in love with (& purchased on the spot) a gorgeous 1950’s style off the rack dress in blue silk organza with a cream rose pattern woven into it.
I planned to make a cream lace beaded waistband & cream tulle petticoat, but it’s just turned up in a tv ad & now it doesn’t seem as special. So I think I’m back to the drawing board.
