Marcela and Filipe
A wedding from the other side of the world always sends me into a spin- yes I love and adore Australian weddings, but I am enchanted by other cultures, other backdrops, the way others celebrate love and marriage. Today I’ve been swept away by the drama and romance of Marcela and Filipe’s wedding in South America. From their ceremony in the beautiful church in Chile, to the newlyweds’ keen sense of style. It’s all in a delicious spirit of inspiration for you!
Marcela explains how she and Filipe met. “We met at a friend’s wedding. We were seated at the same table – number 45. We laughed so hard that night that after that we never left each other’s side.”
Today’s photographer are the super team of Sebastien Larco and Kyle Hepp of Kyle Hepp Photography. I love their bold photographs which seem to take charge of capturing the moment and are so full of life. It’s an honour to welcome their work to Polka Dot Bride today!
Patricia Weber Murazzo was the wedding planner for the day.
Marcela wore a Macarena Cortes gown with Nina Shoes. Flowers were by Flowers from Patagonia, Punta Arenas, Chile.
Marcela and Felipe were married at Piedra de Miraflores church, in Viña del Mar, Chile. Marcela recalls “I walked down the aisle too quickly so I actually ended up coming down the aisle to the same song as the groom – Te Deum Prelude – Charpentier”.
Filipe wore a custom suit from Rene Zamorano with shoes from Perry Ellis.
The newlyweds held their reception Club de Campo Granadilla, Viña del Mar. Marcela says, “The venue is a golf club that was recently remodeled. It’s not often used for big events, but it’s really pretty because of the gardens and the environment it’s in. We made the white cubes hanging from the ceiling out of cardboard. We also made the menus that were on every table
Every guest had a letter on their table with a note especially written to them by the couple.
Marcela recounts one of her favourite memories. “At least six of our guests went and had pisco sours (a Chilean cocktail) at another wedding in a venue nearby! They realized they were at the wrong wedding when they went in to have dinner and saw pictures of another bride and groom at the door!”
Marcela and Filipe danced to “Baby I Love You” by The Ramones. “It’s a song that has so many good memories for us and aside from that is very representative of our musical style.” Music was provided by Alberto Damm.
Tents were set up to add to the reception by Fortunato Edery, from Carpas Steward. Marcela notes “He provided the tents. His work was excellent, he’s a lovely person and is so willing to help with whatever you need.” The wedding cake was made by an aunt.
Congratulations Marcela and Filipe! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to Kyle Hepp for sharing today’s images!

Thank you so much! We are really thrilled to be featured!
Love the emotions captured in the photos of the bride and groom during the ceremony.
I speak Spanish…Latin America is the continent of my birth…we’re available to help all those Latina brides make it happen…bags are almost packed, booking a plane ticket is only a few clicks away…ok enough fantasising for a Tuesday afternoon. Stunning, stunning photography…and the groom’s suit..so swoon worthy…and the back detail of the wedding dress…and that they wrote a personal letter to each and every guest…standing ovation for that generous and beautiful gesture. x
An interesting site with lots of great info and cracking images.
