Alice and Adam
Oh I adore today’s wedding – the golden wheat fields, the beautiful white blooms, the relaxed but oh, so elegant newlyweds. The fresh touches of green and little sentimental details make Alice and Adam’s wedding a really wonderful one to end the week on.
After meeting at university and even sharing a share house together, Alice and Adam finally plucked up the courage (after two and a half years!) to begin dating. Over four years later, Adam proposed to Alice in a favourite park overlooking Sydney Harbour. The couple decided to hold their wedding in Goulburn, NSW to give their guests the opportunity for a weekend away from the city.
Today’s photographs are by SugarLove Weddings who capture such beauty in their photographs. I love the clean, crispness of today’s imagery – it captures the mood that Alice and Adam worked so hard to create!
Alice carried a white and green bouquet of white roses, lilies, hyacinths and lisianthus by Seed Flora. She wore a strapless white wedding gown with a sage green sash around her waist by Monique L’huillier from Helen Rodrigues,
Alice and Adam were married at the Goulburn Uniting Church. Programs and other wedding stationery were designed by Poppies For Grace.
The first kiss was one of the funnier moments of the wedding day, Alice says “We had been feeling nervous about the first kiss, because it’s hard to judge the appropriate level of ‘enthusiasm’ to display in a church in front of your parents and grandparents! So we were a little hesitant, and much to our embarrassment, our lovely and very laid-back minister insisted that we do it again!” Alice said. “Adam went to kiss me, but I was laughing too hard and jumped out of the way… so we had to go in for a third attempt! By that time, the whole church was in hysterics, but we finally succeeded! Of course, our numerous attempts were all caught on camera, so we can look back on it for many years to come…”
Alice remembers “One of our highlights of the day was the trip from the church to the reception. We were driving through the countryside on a beautiful sunny afternoon, and it was so lovely to have a quiet moment together to talk about the ceremony, and let the realisation that we were actually married sink in!”
Guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails under dozens of flickering lanterns beside the river at Lynwood Cafe (now closed). Alice’s late mother had always said the venue would make a perfect venue for a wedding. The seating chart was hand written in chalk on blackboards propped against tree trunks.
Vintage style luggage tags were hand stamped with the guests name and tied to their cutlery acting as a sweet place card.
Inside the marquee, the couple chose glittering crystal chandeliers, black Tiffany chairs, green and white striped table cloths and flower boxes to bring in the country feel they wanted. Black tiffany chairs were used throughout the marquee. Funktionality Event Management styled the reception while Goulburn Party Hire provided the hire items and setup.
Congratulations Alice and Adam! Thank you for sharing your wedding day on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to SugarLove Weddings for sharing today’s photographs!
Anything with chandeliers is a winner in my book 🙂 Just love the country styling – so elegant!
