Jaime and Ben
Today’s wedding is of a long timer reader of polka dot bride Jaime, you might remember Jaime’s completely fabulous shoe Save The Dates she made herself and shared with us! During her wedding planning, Jaime would share the details behind her choices, the stories and moments and her emails were (and are) something I truly came to treasure.
Jaime’s love of design (and weddings) has led her to opening her own Etsy store The Bride Gene. It’s such an honour for me to be able to show you Jaime and Ben’s wedding today!
Jaime and Ben wrote stories of how they met, so I’m going to let them share their moments with you!
“Ben: I first noticed Jaime in church. I had seen her with her friends around but never had the courage to go up and say hi. We also happened to both attend the same School of Music where I played drums and she sang. One Sunday after church service, she actually made the first move by coming over, tapping me on the shoulder from behind and asking, “are you the drummer who plays for the school of music?” From the on, we chatted online, started texting and our friendship grew. The rest, as they say, is history!
Jaime: I first saw Ben at our church’s School of Music performance night. We both took private lessons and had never met. When it was his turn to drum, he started his song off on a wrong beat and I immediately though to myself, “gosh, I know how that feels!” having felt nervous about my performance as well. That was really how I remembered him – the guy who drummed to the wrong beat! Months later, he appeared in church (as I had never seen him on Sundays before) so I thought I’d go over and say hi. It was a mere hello that blossomed into a friendship and a lasting relationship.”

The tight schedule on their wedding day (two ceremonies and a reception!) Jaime and Ben had photos taken together on a sunny day before the wedding with Mish & Zac Photography.
Jaime and Ben held their ceremonies (and celebrations!) at Butleigh Wootton.Jaime says “Butleigh Wootton was the third place we viewed and instantly fell in love with. From the classic décor to the perfect size, everything suited our theme so well. In fact, Ben was actually the first one who knew it was THE place for us. The staff were excellent and more than we could wish for, helpful and bending over backwards to make our wedding such a success.”
For the tea ceremony, Jaime wore a traditional gown in aqua & red from Efushop. Benjamin wore a red tie with his black suit from MenzClub. The mantle was decorated with special family photos.
Check back this afternoon for Jaime and Ben’s second ceremony and gorgeous reception! See it here.
