Sydney designer Luom Ousby popped up on my radar a few months ago with her label Luomo and I’m delighted to share her work with you today.
Luomo trained in New Zealand before heading to Australia’s golden shores in 1997 where she worked for Studibaker and Smith & Miles before starting her label Luomo in 2004. I was drawn to Luomo’s simple elegant lines in the collections. There’s no fluff, no big skirts, no dramatic detail. Instead, the drama comes through the elegant cuts, the simple skirts, the tailoring of the fabric so it drapes off the bride’s body and the simple touches- a halter necklace, a black sash around the waist, a simple ruffle.
We only have a few images (Luomo is yet to release her latest shoot to her website) but I think they capture her style beautifully.
