I always love it when readers take the time to send their weddings in to Polka Dot Bride! Today’s wedding was sent in by bride Jodie. Jodie and Tim weren’t interested in a big wedding, they wanted something casual and low key that reflected their personalities.
Jodie and Tim used an autumnal colour palette to reflect their laid back nature. The ceremony (written entirely by Jodie and Tim and performed by Nettie of Otway Celebrations) started at 4.30pm at Rippleside Park in Geelong. Jodie wore a Mariana Hardwick gown and carried a bouquet by Smellies Flowers.
Photography today is by Paul Jeffers
Jodie’s wedding day look was styled by Mel Studio, Ocean Grove and Body Bar, Torquay.
The couple chose Paul Jeffers to take their wedding photographs. Paul was an old BMX friend of Tim’s and suited what the couple wanted in their wedding photos – non traditional and grungy. They made sure to get photos in front of their favourite Geelong pub – The Nash.
Jodie and Tim met in high school and share a love of snow boarding, music, bike riding and music. Their invitation featured the couple on their bikes, while the cake featured a bicycle cake topper from Layer Cake Shop on Etsy
Immediately after the ceremony, guests headed to Ripples On The Bay for a cocktail reception.
Jodie and Tim had many personal touches that reflected who they are as a couple, they provided a Polaroid cameras for the guests to use, and asked them pin the photos on a pin board – creating a collage at the end of the night. Jodie and Tim put together a playlist painstakingly to reflect their love for music and to get the dance floor pumping.
After short and simple speeches, the couple danced their first dance to “TIny Dancer” by Elton John
The wedding guests each left with a native tree that was hand wrapped and tagged with a Polaroid inspired thank you. Jodie and Tim chose to leave the ceremony on something close to their hearts- their bikes! The bikes were adorned with “Just Married” signs.
Thank you Jodie and Tim for sharing your fun, beautiful personalised celebration with Polka Dot Bride!
