Polka Dot Bride has many readers from all around the world. So as you read this I have a question for you…
Who are you? Where are you from? Are you engaged? Are you 25 or 30? I’d love to know about you! Tell me stories, thoughts and facts! Don’t be shy, I don’t bite! (although we ran out of peanut butter this morning (latest addiction) so I am slightly hungry!)
This post is all about you! Go for it!
Hi there! I’m a bride-to-be living with my fiance in Los Angeles, CA. I work in television and my fiance is a DJ who, coincidentally, does a lot of weddings. We both want our wedding to be a special and fun day for all involved and are really trying to shape the event into something that, at the end of the day, our guests walk away saying “that was totally THEM.” We’re getting married in August in the central coast of CA. I’m 28, he’s 29 and we’re planning the entire thing ourselves – so, understandably, I LOVE my bridal blogs and rely on them for advice, inspiration, and community. I guess one fun fact about me as a bride is that my dress is actually a Watters bridesmaid dress that I ordered in White for $249 USD! I feel like I beat the system a bit with that one. Anyways, thanks for all the great posts I enjoy reading daily 🙂
Hello there! I’m 25, engaged and getting married in May! I’ve looooved this wedding planning process-especially because I found all of these fabulous blogs (and loved them so much I had to start one of my own). I live in Kansas City…ummm I’m an interior designer and I’m marrying an architect. So we have a lot of dorky ‘space’ conversations haha.
Hi! I am 27, engaged and I live in Madison, WI. I work in the marketing/enrollment department at a local private university and in my spare time, I like to watch reality tv, cook, craft, go out to eat, and see movies. I’m not sure where I found your blog originally…probably linked to one of the other bridal blogs I read…regardless, I have you on my google reader and read all your posts as they are updated. I got engaged about 2 months ago to my bestest friend and dove right into the planning. I am having so much fun and trying to do a lot on my own. We definitely have a budget to stick to, so I am planning to DIY a lot of stuff. I am a total craft freak, so this excites me.

Hi there!
I am 31 and getting married in April at my home town of Echuca, Australia. I have never been involved in planning a wedding before (I am the 1st in our family)and I have relied heavily on these wonderful blogs for help.
I am having SO much fun planning the wedding that I am beside myself with excitement to see it all come together – almost wishing I was a guest so I could experience everything our guests will be experiencing!! Weird I know.
My dress is a smokey silver/grey which is beaded and almost vintage looking. I found it in a non-bridal store and hence paid a quarter of what I had originally planned to spend. With the unusual colour I have found it difficult to find a veil or headpeice to match so have made my own beaded head decoration by hand. Definatley something that can be passed down through the ages (or buried with me as it has taken many painstaking ours to make!!!).
Thank you for your inspiring aussie blog. I am sure this blog will be kept in my favorites folder long after the April 08 wedding.
Hi!! I’m 23 and will be getting married in September in Indiana…I cannot wait! My colors are black & white with splashes of plum and raspberry. Your blog is a fav of mine! =)
Hey There…. you probably know my history. But here it goes. Engaged for over 3 years, been planning my wedding for 2. Our date is June 21st 2008 and I am from Montreal, Quebec Canada. I’m 24 and my fiancé is 29. Im miss flamingo on weddingbee.com. I have my own blog which you visit and I design jewelry. I will be launching an invitation line in the near future… but thats all hush hush 🙂
Hi, I’m newly engaged and 28 from Melbourne, Australia. I’m a mad consumer of bridal blogs, and being a jewellery maker I’ve enjoyed doing ‘research’ for my soon-to-be-wed friends in the past. Now it’s my turn!
I’m pretty traditional, but I know there are a lot of things associated with weddings that I don’t want or need on my wedding day (or can’t justify the cost). But OMG it’s fun to dream about it all (daydreaming has replaced twisties.. no snacks on the “white dress” diet!!!)
A big THANKYOU for being THE source for me in collecting non-agenda driven Aussie specific wedding info online 🙂
Hola! My name is Sarita and I am an American marrying here in Sevilla, Spain where I live this coming April (3 months away – YIKES!) I’ve been blogging about my life in Spain for 2 years now and spun off into my wedding blog when the planning frenzy began. I can’t remember how I found yours, but I read it daily on my Google Reader.
I’m 28, going on 29 and I’m originally from Boston.
Hello there,
I’m a new reader – just started subscribing to the RSS a few weeks ago (through a link on Manolo for Brides). I’m 25 years old and not “technically” engaged but actively planning. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 11 years. We just bought a house so the ring is coming in a few months.
Thanks!
Kristin
I’m 24 and I’ve been married for 3 1/2 years to a great guy. I’m wedding obsessed to a almost unbelievable degree. I don’t have the guts to start crashing wedding but I’ve sure thought about it. I eloped and planned a reception one year after we got married. I wished I had of read these blogs back then! I’m trying to get my wedding and event planning business off the ground. I love all the wedding blogs because they give me so many ideas and inspiration.
Hi! I’m 29 and I’m from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I’m getting married in May!
I’m 23 and from Green Bay, WI. Not engaged, but was told by my man of 5 years that the ring is “coming” sometime this year. I have already planned one wedding and called it off (same guy) and am looking forward to a much “saner” planned wedding in the future. I started reading your blog because a girl friend of mine keep grilling me for ideas and I ran out. Yours keep me fresh and her wondering!
I am 31, already married and living in San Francisco.

Hi, I’m 32 and from Melbourne, Australia. I’m getting married on February 2 (just over one week to go!) Most of the other wedding blogs seem to be US-based so it’s good to have one with local ideas/products for visual inspiration. I’m fairly untraditional though, my dress is an off-the-rack design by Akira Isogawa, it’s ivory silk, calf-length, with a hand-painted floral-inspired design across the bodice.
Hi. I’m 33, FI is 39, we’re getting married in 50 days; yay, can’t wait!!!! FI is: attorney / finance / government, he is brilliant and wears many hats. I’m in business development. We live in a suburb of Los Angeles but are hosting a 3-day wedding weeking in my hometown of Santa Barbara. I’m totally wedding obsessed . . . when the wedding is said and done, I’ll still be a wedding blog-aholic! (especially to your site which I heart so much!)
I’m 27, live in Canberra Australia and getting married in about a year. Like all the other Aussies, I love that you’ve got actual Aussie content goin’ on here. Such a nice change 🙂
Also appreciate that you’re not totally WIC-y!
Hi! I am Blair! I am 22 , and live in Orange County, CA. I work in customer service in an LA office full time, and am a photographer part time (www.customshotsbyblair.com) :). My Fiancé- (5 days older than me) works as retail manager and is ALMOST done with school and will be a high school English teacher (and will be one of those fun teachers that you will always remember!). My fiancé and I have been together since we were 15, got engaged Oct 06 and will be getting married on 6-7-8 (4 ½ more months to go!! Yay!) . Our wedding will be on the rooftop deck of an awesome restaurant over the Long Beach harbor. The reception is in a room on the restaurant level and has an amazing view as well , with a big patio that goes over the harbor. I am going for a nice clean white, with the pop of turquoise accents – and of coarse we are using the beach theme! So to be honest this wedding planning has been really difficult. We (unexpectingly) had to take care of every thing on our own (financially and emotionally), and it has been a little hard making all of the decisions and not having a ton of support. It has not been easy mostly because of the struggle to accept the surprise from the people that we love, but in the end it is about us – and I will be so happy and proud of every thing that we have put together! I found this blog through photo blogs that I am subscribed to that I read constantly and wish I would have found you sooner! Such amazing and fun ideas on here!
I’ll play! I’m a 27 year old wedding photographer (and almost mom) living in Orange County, CA. I’ve been married for 2 1/2 years to a boy I’ve known since we were in second grade. We officially started our friendship the summer before senior year of high school when we randomly were both in Maui at the same time. We started dating at the end of our senior year and he’s my best friend. I love Mexican food, photography, and everything UCLA. As you know, I enjoy reading your blog with an Australian accent in my head. I went through a phase in junior high where I pretended to be Australian. My accent got pretty good. I’ve never been to Australia, but someday I will visit!
This is fun!! I’m 28, live in Seattle and am planning a wedding in Negril, Jamaica! FI and I have been together for 8 years and engaged for one year. I’m an HR Manager at a Global IT consulting firm so that means I get to travel a lot and one of my favorite locations that my company sends me to is Sydney, Australia! FI is a CAD manager at an Interior Design firm so being as creative as he is, he is very involved in the wedding planning. I’m Taiwanese and he’s Japanese, I’m very excited to have mixed Asian babies with him! 🙂
I love wedding planning blogs and will probably read them even after I’m married!
Hi, I’m 39 and my fiance is 37. We’re getting married this June in Philadelphia, PA where we live. He’s a programmer and I’m in marketing. I’m obsessed with our wedding, and hope the day turns out great for everyone! Thanks for the blog…it is so helpful and fun to read!
Hi there!
My name is Mollie and I own a custom wedding invitation design studio called Polka Dots & Daisies which is probably what initially drew me to your blog (which is SO darling by the way!) I LOVE what I do and it’s so fun to work with brides since they’re all planning the most perfect day of their life 🙂
I’ve been married a year and a half now, but still love reading all I can about the current wedding trends!!! Thanks for your fabulous blog 🙂
I’m 20 years old (21 this year) and I go to Purdue University in West Lafayette Indiana. My fiance is 23 (24 this year). We are both from a small town in Southern Indiana called Petersburg. We got engaged June 4th, 2007! My fiance, who is a pilot, flew me over his house with a big sign on the roof stating: “Laura, Will U Marry Me?”. He even had to fly over twice because I didn’t see it the first time. I could not believe it! It was totally unexpected!
Our 4th anniversary is on Valentine’s Day and we don’t have a date yet. He just graduated in May of 07′ and got a job with a regional airline. He is still working the undesirable shifts, so we don’t know exactly when it will work out right now. We are shooting for sometime in May of 2009 preferably the 16th(My mother’s birthday).
His sister has been my best friend since Kindergarten and she even saved his proposal. It was very windy that day and his sign had blown over itself leaving it unreadable on the roof. So his sister, my best friend who doesn’t like heights, scaled the roof to fix it within minutes of our flight…I love her and undoubtedly owe her so much for this!
I have learned so much from your blog and I will continue to monitor my RSS Feed Religiously!! Thanks!!
Hi! I’m a wedding planner in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and I’ve been reading your blog faithfully for the last couple months — very lovely and inspiring! Thank you for all you share.
I’m 32 living in NYC. My fiance is doing most of the wedding planning. I am in charge of the creative things (I’m a graphic designer) like the invites, and photography. I can’t wait to be married, but am not into the wedding planning details. But I love reading blogs like this one.
My name is Jenna and I am a 22 year old college student in love with anything and everything wedding related. I am looking to be getting married myself sometime in the near future, and it’s a fun time as all my close friends begin the process as well. I subscribe to every single blog related to anything weddings. I don’t live in Australia, but I still love to read anyways!
Hi there. I’m a 26 year old California girl who moved out to Sydney, Australia four years ago, where I met my future husband. We’re getting married in Sydney in December of this year. With so many family members and friends coming from overseas, we feel we owe them an awesome wedding. I had never given a thought to planning a wedding until I got engaged so this is all a bit overwhelming. Part of me thinks this wedding business is ridiculously over-the-top, but the other part of me revels in the over-the-top-ness of it all. I happened upon this blog today and was so happy to find an Australian wedding blog. Great site. Thanks!!
Hi I am 34years old. I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan USA. I am a Teacher. I am not sure how I stumbled across this page, but I have been looking here for awhile now. I am currently not engaged although there has been some talk about it. I just love weddings and love to look at beautiful things. Everyday I eagerly check to see if something new has been posted. I just love the ideas that you have.
