Polka Dot Bride has been quiet of late. With Christmas madness, last minute weddings and the general craziness that comes at this time of year, it’s hard to know where my head is!
Last night Mr Polka Dot & I trekked into the city. It’s become our annual tradition (he says he does it to indulge me but I think he secretly likes it too!)
Melbourne skyline
Crown is the biggest casino & entertainment complex in Melbourne. It has famous restaurants like Nobu and very flashy features like towers which emit flames every night on the hour.
Every year Crown does a Christmas display, which is held in their atrium (a room with a roof of crystal icicles, marble stairs and shooting water features). The display is full of moving clocks, angels and weird Christmas things and last night we were lucky enough to have their choir singing to us.
The clock and the choir
After heading out of Crown there was only one place to go – the Myer Christmas windows! Every year, department store Myer unveils gorgeous windows- normally themed after a book or special story. They’re full of detail, movement and take a year to make and perfect!
This years theme was Uno’s Garden by Graeme Base and the above photo is the first window.
Of course I can’t leave this entry without showing you the decorations in Bourke St Mall.
I love Christmas in the city!
