Pewter Grey

This moody grey is the colour of storm clouds, the stormy ocean. Combine with ivory and cherry red, with touches of deep chocolate. With golden yellow and slate blue and pearl grey. With slate blue and pale blue and ivory. With teal, bright blue and paler grey. With coral and slate blue and cream. With natural stone colours. With robin’s egg blue, sage (grey) green and pale grey. With plum, lavender and mid-grey. With beige, robin’s egg blue, ‘bronzey’ brown and touches of black. With royal blue and mid-grey. With rose pinks of many hues and ivory When using this colour think texture and shine. Use silks, satins, velvets, wools, things that are sparkly and things that have a soft lustre such as pewter itself, to add interest to a colour that could quickly become overwhelming and forceful. Add softer elements such as fully opened roses or peonies, clouds of gypsophila, white hydrangeas, sugar-frosted fruit, and subtle accents such as perfumed flowers tucked away in corners, soft unobtrusive lighting.
