Welcome to the home of “feel good” weddings…
I’m Dorothy – a.k.a. Ms Polka Dot (she/her) – the editor of Polka Dot Wedding.
My team across Australia welcomes all couples with open arms – no matter your budget, your personal style or your location – to find inspiration here or to share your own stories. We are your biggest cheerleaders as you plan an occasion that reflects who you and your beloved are individually and together. The ideas on our pages will help you navigate towards making meaningful decisions in a wedding world saturated with fleeting trends and not-so-necessary “must-haves”.
I personally love cocktails, cake and (unashamedly) all things love. And I can’t wait to learn more about how you’ll make your dream celebration come true and how Polka Dot Wedding can guide you along the way!

Meet Dorothy aka Ms Polka Dot
As a child growing up in a small country town in NSW, I adored the idea of weddings. I would drag my dad to our local library and borrow all of the wedding magazines to help me dream up designs, sketch wedding gowns and learn about flowers. I was drawn to the way so many beautiful things came together in what was ultimately a celebration of hope.
Years later, I moved to the big smoke of Melbourne and met the love of my life. In 2007, I started a blog (then called Polka Dot Bride) to share my passion for those special days filled with all kinds of love. Well over a decade later, Polka Dot Wedding has become a hub that showcases heartfelt ways to make your wedding truly yours.
As for me, I’ve been named among Australian Anthill Magazine’s 30 under 30 and feel honoured to have become a trusted expert for my tens of thousands of regular readers on everything weddings and the wider celebration events industry.
I – and my Polka Dot Wedding team – have appeared as wedding authorities on the Today Show, Today Extra, and Sunrise, commentated on 3AW, the Baby Got Backend podcast and The Wedding & Event Creators podcast. Our thoughts have been featured in The Age, The Herald Sun, Sydney Morning Herald, Catersource Magazine, Samara magazine, Special Events magazine, Brides Magazine, Elle Magazine, Daily Mail, News.com.au, Jetstar Magazine, The Sunday Telegraph, Mama Mia and Cosmopolitan.
We’ve been thrilled to collaborate with Expedia, Intercontinental, Circuit, Ritz Carlton, Collins 234, NAB, Microsoft, Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week, Etsy, The Lyall Hotel and The International Wedding Report. We’ve even flown to Hawaii, Bali, Phuket, Malaysia, Fiji, Broome, the Whitsundays, the Cook Islands and Barcelona to share honeymoon travel ideas and cover international wedding fashion weeks.
