Emma & Troy

‘The ceremony was a very important part of our day – we wanted it to be serious where it needed to be, but at the same time we wanted it to be very personal, happy, fun and very ‘us’. We wrote our own vows which we left as a surprise for each other until the day. We had two readings that were read by the mother of the bride and groom, ‘Carrie’s Poem’ (from Sex + The City) and another poem called ‘These I Can Promise’ (Mark Twain).”

“These I Can Promise” Mark Twain

I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my heart’s devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that’s ever true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
