Controversial opinion alert: A wedding is not just one day.

For us, a wedding is as much about the journey as it is about the day. It’s the days spent handcrafting decor with your mum over a glass of wine, the adventures to find the perfect dress and visit your dream venue. It’s also the pre-wedding parties – the hens, bucks, showers, and celebrations. And today, we’ve got one that’s going to blow your socks off.

First things first though, because this story begins with a keen eye and an Instagram post. “Like many modern-day love stories go, we met through social media” admits Rosini,  I spotted Alex in a mutual friend’s Instagram post, gave him a follow, and then he sent me a message and the rest is history! We’ve been with each other for 8 years now… so the wedding has been a long time coming!”. It was during Melbourne’s lockdown, that Alex decided to pop the question. “I was out for a long walk with my girlfriends (who were in on the surprise), and when I arrived back home, I opened the door and saw photos of us from all our years together covering the walls of our corridor. There were candles and rose petals leading me upstairs where Alex was standing with hundreds of beautiful red roses and a sign asking me to marry him – it was so special and caught me by absolute surprise (which is very hard for him to do!).”

In the most stunning colour palette of red and pink, bride-to-be (and wedding stationer under her brand It’s Yours Collective) Rosini well and truly made magic happen. She shares “I wanted my wedding shower to be bright, fun and full of really special personalised touches. Being in the wedding stationery industry, it was my opportunity to get super creative and push the boundaries. The theme was pink, red & playful and no detail was left amiss!”

With Kylie Iva Photography and Candido Creative both on hand to document the occasion. A Sunday in March set the scene at Melbourne venue The Alibi, Rosini designing a grand pink and red backdrop with the words “From Miss to Mrs” to frame the occasion. The detail accented by balloons from Agani Creations and Willow Tree Events props.  Dressed in a Solace London gown with sparkly Aquazzura shoes, Rosini’s look was finished by hair and makeup artist Rhodia Makeup Artist – perfect for the star of the show!

Long tables were set with linens from both Table Art and Cloth & Confetti Events, each place setting finished with gold flatware from Eventi X Hire sparkling beside Rosini’s custom-designed cocktails and cookie packaging and individual place cards turned game packs. “Having my own event stationery business meant that I had free reign to create whatever my heart desired! I created the styling concept for the event, designed all the artwork featured on the backdrops and floor decals, and of course, created all the stationery items! I included things like custom plates, personalised game packs, custom cocktail bottles & cookie boxes, drink tags & stirrers, drinks menus, table numbers, personalised ribbons, thank you cards… the list goes on.”

Guests were well and truly spoilt – a cocktail bar accompanying those custom, individual cocktails thanks to Cocktail Attire. And plenty to eat with Olive & Thyme Catering, The Graze Keepers and The Grain Emporium all coming up with the goods. And for the sweet treats? Well aside from custom cookies by The Cookie Cake Co., Rosini commissioned an incredible cake from T With Cake. “It was a white choc raspberry cake with vanilla buttercream, white chocolate chunks & raspberries… and it was absolutely delicious! I wanted to keep with the pink and red theme so we went with vintage-style buttercream piping, which just fit the vibe perfectly!

And the finishing touch? A lasting reminder of the celebration for each of the guests. “My favourite detail of the day was handing out hand-wrapped red roses to all of my guests. My family and I had stayed up ‘till late the night before reflexing and wrapping each individual rose and tying them off with the custom ribbon and stickers I had created. My guests absolutely LOVED them and it meant they were able to take a special piece of the day home with them to enjoy for the rest of the week!”
