Cosy & Intimate At Home Wedding

Luvia and Neil had originally dreamt of a big, celebratory wedding day, but when COVID struck, and limitations were imposed, they instead decided their was no better place to tie the knot- then at home! With jsut a handful of guests present (including the most important one, the couple’s cat) it was cosy, heartfelt and the perfect way to spend a grey Sydney day. The entire celebration was captured beautifully by CJ Picture.

It was a bar, while they were both at university that the pair’s path first led them together. “He just came to me and started the conversation right before I left” tells Luvia. “He was very shy. But he had a great body with 6 packs! Well, I just could not say no. Then I found him super cute, not just the look, but also the inside too. He has the biggest heart that I’ve ever seen. And he’s a bit nerdy in his works, which is fine to me. That’s how we met and started.

Neil proposed on the couple’s third anniversary. “He made a beautiful breakfast and pop up the question afterwards. It was the most beautiful day ever. It was very simple. But that’s exactly what I was looking for.”

“We had our cat in the photos. She’s our gold! And she’s always hiding from strangers. Don’t know how but Jeff took quite a few shots of hers. I’m very happy to have her involved in the day.”

With Neil choosing a classic blue suit, Luvia also went for wedding gown that was paired back. “It was a simple white dress with blue lining at the waist. I just like everything simple and comfy to wear. And I can wear it again on any other occasion. Worth it!”

The couple were wed by Robyn Pattison . “She went through our love story and made everyone in the wedding experience our love. I wanted it to be intimate, cosy and full of love. We customised our vows. And we are very happy with the result.”

Of their photographer, these two could not be happier says Luvia “Jeff is very easygoing and professional! He spent lots of time getting to know us and learning our story in detail. He knows exactly what I want. Our home is tiny. But he captured a lot of candid moments of the day with his artistic angles; made everyone in the house feel comfortable in front of his camera; guided us in the photoshoot without posing us. Neil and I are very happy to have him capture the day for us. And we are surprised to see the final results.

We love every shot! From the getting ready till the end. There weren’t any fancy things of the day. But Jeff just did an amazing job. He even managed to get us a very nice location shoot even in the rain. To be honest, we had another fancy shoot in Norway. But Jeff’s work is 10 times better! I regretted that we didn’t bring him to Norway.”

“We didn’t have a first dance” admits Luvia. “But we danced a bit in the woods (it was raining as well) after the ceremony as photographer Jeff suggested . I’m very happy that he captured the moments for us and now we had the dancing photos!”
