With high-altitude vineyards, award-winning food and wine, and country luxe scenery everywhere you look, it’s easy to see why Orange is one of New South Wales’s fastest-growing destinations for weddings.

A pretty four-hour drive west of Sydney, when your wedding guests arrive in Orange, they will be treated to a weekend away of award-winning food, wine and coffee, shopping, and luxurious accommodation all topped off with your stunning wedding in one of New South wales’ best vineyard wedding venues.

Here are “5 Fabulous Vineyard Wedding Venues In Orange, New South Wales” with Kirsten Cunningham Photography for our Winery Issue.

Borrodell

Borrodell has been a fixture on the Orange wedding scene for yonks. And for good reason. With an award winning restaurant onsite, Borrodell has the wow factor with views across the Towac Valley, exceptional food and wine, accommodation for the wedding party onsite and a ceremony location high on the hill overlooking Orange.

Perched high up on the hill overlooking the Lake Canobolas valley, the drive into Borrodell is almost as pretty as the views from the terrace up top. Lined with orchards and vineyards, Borrodell uses produce grown onsite including truffles, apples and cherries. They famously hold a Black Tie Truffle Hunt each year where revellers dress up in black tie and gumboots and go with a tiny little dog on the hunt for you guessed it – fresh truffles!

Choose a marquee lawn set-up or host your reception in their spacious wine tasting hall. For the extra wow factor consider travelling by helicopter – the landing pad is only 50 metres away from the wedding ceremony site.

Mayfield Vineyard

If hiring out an entire vineyard for the weekend has ever been on your bucket list – then Mayfield Vineyard is your place! With enough room to host wedding parties of up to 180 guests, Mayfield has accommodation, private wine tastings and multiple ceremony sites – and importantly is all yours, all weekend.

Resident ducks and geese give the site a real country feel, and with many beautiful spots to have photographs, you really don’t need to leave Mayfield for your whole wedding day.

With a 100-year-old homestead and cellar door, rolling vineyards as far as the eye can see and a convenient 7-minute drive into town, Mayfield offers a luxurious vineyard experience that has that country wow factor.

Philip Shaw

With a designer vibe, the Philip Shaw cellar door is definitely an extension of their brand embodied by their premium wines. Onsite catering, a dedicated function space inside their bluestone cellar door and old timber railway sleepers that look like roman archways as a ceremony backdrop provide a really different and very luxe wedding feel.

Philip Shaw’s cellar door has a huge amount of outdoor space with terraced gardens flowing up to the bluestone reception area. Perfect for lawn games and outdoor canapes with views across their property and gardens for guests to enjoy.

Philip Shaw’s vineyard is located at another site and is available for private access to wedding parties celebrating at the cellar door for photographs with the beautiful Mount Canmbokbolas as a backdrop.

Rowlee

With a marquee set-up and award-winning vineyard as a backdrop, Rowlee is fast becoming one of Orange’s best up-and-coming wedding venues. Rowlee also offers on-site accommodation in a series of renovated designer farmhouses only a few hundred metres from their cellar door. They have a dedicated garden area for outdoor ceremonies and it’s an easy walk between your ceremony location and the reception marquee.

The property has views of Mount Canobolas and is on the same road as Borrodell near Lake Canobolas – only 15 minutes from town. Rowlee offers food and beverage packages and can organise the whole ceremony/reception shebang in a custom package for you.

Heifer Station

Have you ever dreamed of having your wedding reception under the stars with a long luxurious table in the vineyards? Well, then Heifer Station might be able to make that happen!

Located only 15 minutes from Orange, Heifer Station is one of the most exciting wedding venues in Orange. While Heifer Station does not provide catering, they do have facilities to bring in some of the region’s best catering crews like Groundstone or Racine. Have your ceremony in a paddock surrounded by vineyards and reception in a marquee or outside in between the vines.
