We’re talking all things wedding ceremonies all month long, and today? We’re all about the unplugged wedding ceremony.
The unplugged ceremony is the term coined for a wedding ceremony where guests are asked to put down their camera and their phones and to tune right on into your wedding ceremony right in front of them.
It’s odd to think that the unplugged ceremony is a relatively new concept. But the idea that you and your guests are alone in your wedding bubble, even just for an hour, makes something momentous of an already important moment in time. Added to that? The pros of an unplugged ceremony are many. You’ll not miss the guests’ faces stuck behind the camera – not only while you’re saying your vows, but also throughout your wedding photos. You also know you’ll have your guest’s full attention as they focus on you, rather than scrolling on their devices, or looking through their camera viewfinder.
And while asking your ceremony officiant to set the ground rules before anyone walks down the aisle is a great way to begin today, we’ve rounded up ten examples (from our own real weddings) of signage, couples have used to alert guests to the status quo. Click on through to check them out.
