While the weather cools down, we’re heating things up for this Cocktail Friday with a deliciously hot Pineapple Habanero Margarita from Shakers on Wheels. For pineapple lovers the world over, the sweet of the fruit mixed with the hot of the chilli really hits the spot! Enjoy on your own or wow a crowd (small crowd) with this one!


30mL Chilli Infused Tequila Blanco 100% Agave

15mL Triple Sec

70mL Homemade pineapple juice

30mL Fresh lime juice 30mL

Chilli for garnish


You Will Need

Red- Eye Chillies for Tequila (as many as you like depending on your heat tolerance!)

Pineapple chunks or tinned pineapple (for juice)

Sugar and Water (for simple syrup)


Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker for 10 seconds and double strain into a coupette.

Garnish with chilli on the rim.

How To – Chilli Infused Tequila

– Slit red-eye chillies in half lengthwise or chop finely for greater heat.
– Place in the tequila bottle for 24 hours. The longer it infuses, the hotter it will get!
– Strain them once happy with the heat level!

How To – Homemade Pineapple Juice

– Make simple syrup. Boil water and add sugar to it. Stir until diluted. Ratio 1:1
– Dice a pineapple. (Can also use canned pineapple)
– Fill ¾ of the blender with diced pineapple. Add 70ml of homemade simple syrup and top up with water.
– Blend for 1 minute and strain
