There is a reason the sweet tones of peaches and pinks have become so loved lately. And well, if you needed any more evidence, that you need to consider this colour for your wedding day then let the wedding of Minnie and Brian be your big hint.
The pair chose a stunning Hinterland location for their big day, marrying overlooking that drop-dead gorgeous view, before celebrating with guests at a sparkly food and wine-filled reception.
Every moment filled with elegance, filled with chic style, filled with love, filled with laughter, and all captured in stills by the ever-talented Van Middleton Photography.
Let’s talk blooms and decor! The couple chose The French Petal to make beautiful floral details of peaches and pinks. “We took a fairly minimal approach to style, choosing to use neutrals and florals that echoed the surrounding textures of the area. From the beginning, the main inspiration was for it to feel like a big family dinner where we sat in amongst our guests sharing good food and great wine. This was extremely important to us, so we ensured we had the best catering in the area and also taste-tested a lot of wine to curate the perfect wine list.”
Minnie and Brian had a definite vibe they wanted to include on their day, and they made to happen thanks to celebrant Benjamin Carlyle. “We wanted our ceremony to be a conversation between two best friends declaring their love in front of their nearest and dearest” explains Minnie. “Ben Carlyle, our celebrant was perfect in helping us achieve that. He is the bee’s knees of celebrants. He surfed with Brian in the morning of our big day to chill him out and kept me laughing as I waited in the limo for my tardy groom! He interacted with all of our guests with many thinking he was a close friend of ours.
We kept our vows a secret from one another so when we shared them on the day we burst into tears and laughter.”
“It was the best day of our lives,” reminisces Minnie. “Everything we could have envisioned and more thanks to all our magnificent suppliers and family and friends who kept the love and party vibes flowing all day and night.”
The couple chose all in one venue Fins Plantation House for their wedding, sharing “We got married at the beautiful, green Fins Plantation House on a warm autumn’s day. That venue has the most incredible backdrop and the weather, while teasing rain in the morning ended up being perfect by the ceremony. We were looking for a venue that not only showed off the beauty of the region but also allowed us flexibility with vendors and most importantly, a later curfew.”
Minnie and Brian added their own personal touch to the day through custom made favours. Remembers the bride “We wanted to give our guests something unique that represented both of us so we made honey jars with wooden honey dippers, made by Brian! He made 120 of them! Due to our love of hiking and being in the mountains, we also made the place cards out of green pebbles. Our photo booth was made by our best friends.”
Says Minnie “We wanted our guests to be well fed with delicious food with no empty glasses in their hands and Fin’s service rose to our request. They served the most delicious food, never leaving a guest hungry and had their wait staff on the ready to refill empty glasses. They ran a tight ship for us so our day went so smoothly with no hiccups.
After cocktail hour of cheese, salami, and an Asian station of dumplings, spring rolls and crab cakes, Brian and I returned from our off location photos ready to be reintroduced to our stunning sit-down dinner under the green leaves.”
And then it was time to celebrate! “After having our mouths sore from laughing through all the speeches, we cleared the way for an EPIC dance floor.”
A big congratulations to you both Minnie and Brian! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us. Thank you also to Van Middleton Photography for sharing today’s beauty with us!
