Truvelle have always been one of the first designers to come to mind when one thinks of dreamy, romantic wedding gowns. Since their founding in 2013, every year just keeps building on a core collection that has always been filled with beautiful laces, unexpected details and well thought out detail.

The new collection for 2021, honours past clients – Truvelle asking their retailers to nominate brides who had incredible backstories. The result? This collection features gowns named after eight incredible brides. Some have faced a disability, some have overcome incredible adversity, one even trains young women in self-defence. It continues the brand’s tradition in naming the collection after amazing, incredible women.

“Kisha” is my pick of the bunch, the bodice made of pearl dotted lace, the silk straps tying into elegant bows complementing a skirt of a two-layer skirt of silk tulle. You’re also going to love “Mackenzie”, a simple v neck bodice and a-line silhouette elegant and simple, allowing the chorded lace, adorned with sequins to do all the talking.

This year? The brand has turned its focus to inclusivity, one of its brand values. Alongside the fact that Truvelle is one of the few wedding fashion brands that have a huge range of sizes (they design from size 2 to size 26). The brand worked with a trans model for their e-commerce photos to acknowledge the industry’s need to work towards greater inclusivity. See those images on their website here.
