We couldn’t resist the romantic name of ‘The Rosewater Kiss’ cocktail. Created by Brisbane bridal boutique White Lily Couture, this bubbly sweet treat is a fragrant delight. Plus that super pink colour is simply perfect when serving up a tray of refreshments at your bridal shower. Try pink gin or a fruit flavoured vodka in this one.
We chose this drink for ‘The Colour Issue’ because it’s an absolute cinch to adapt to just about any bright wedding colour palette. Simply switch up the fruit you use to make the ice blocks and – voila! – instant colour match. As well as pomegranate seeds, berries work particularly well here. Aside from the obvious blue, pink, purple and red berries, you can create a rainbow spectrum with cloudberries for orange, gooseberries for green and white raspberries for yellow. You can easily find plenty of artisan lemonades in different hues these days to experiment with, of course.
White Lily Couture serves a zero-proof version of this crowd-pleasing fizz exclusively during their Luxe Lounge experience. That’s where a bride-to-be and up to four of her best friends take over White Lily’s plush private suite for an extended dress fitting with a senior stylist. There are sweet and savoury treats to fuel the session too.
The Rosewater Kiss by White Lily Couture
- 4-5 tsp pomegranate seeds, to make ice
- 1 mint sprig
- 1 shot gin or vodka (try a pink gin or a berry flavoured vodka)
- 100ml approx. of rose lemonade like Fentiman’s
Place 1 teaspoon of pomegranate seeds in each well of an ice cube tray. Fill with water and pop into the freezer until solid. Once frozen, place 4-5 ice cubes in each fancy glass and layer with a few lightly bruised, fresh mint leaves (just clap them together in your hands to release their minty scent). Add a shot of your favourite white spirit. Top with rose lemonade. Stir very gently to combine.
