Brightly coloured bath bombs are fizzy delights that are spectacularly easy to whip up, and give to your pals for a night of pampering! Filled with essential and soothing oils, plus natural ingredients, this bath treat is a sweet and easy handmade gift.

Fizzy and colourful bath bombs can also be made in bulk if you’re keen to give these lovely treats as favours – good news! They can be easily adjusted to fit your wedding colours, or scent, and can be wrapped in a myriad of jars, tins or cloth. Get crafty in the kitchen and you’ll whip these beauties up in no time!
What You Will Need:

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup epsom salts
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1/4 cup citric acid
  • 3 tsp coconut oil
  • 6 drops essential oil
  • 1tsp food colouring
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 2 mixing bowls, whisk, bath bomb moulds (something solid works better than a silicon mould)

Step 1. Mix the baking soda, epsom salts, cornflour and citric acid, whisking well to combine the ingredients thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix together the coconut oil (softened), essential oil, colouring and water.

Step 2. Very slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry, whisking as you go. You’ll be able to hear fizzing! Try to keep whisking to distribute the wet ingredients throughout the dry as thoroughly as possible.

Step 3. Once the mixture is clumping and everything is combined, grab your moulds! Silicon moulds are great, but a solid plastic mould will give a more definite finish. Start to fill your chosen moulds, pressing the mixture in firmly.

Step 4. Leave the bath bombs to dry out overnight (2-3 days is ideal) in a dry environment. Tap the bath bombs out, and package with some fresh or dried herbs or flowers. If you’re making these well in advance of your event, store in an airtight container somewhere cool and dry.
