With hot pink and gold, a little black tie and a gorgeous clear marquee, it was always going to be about sheer glamour for Tessa and David.
Their sun-dappled April wedding day, was just as Tessa had dreamt. “A floral, pink, gold and marble jungle. The atmosphere was just full of love, happiness and lots of dancing and champagne!”
The couple enlisting the help of Anna Pretorius Photography to join them as they celebrated a story that began many moons earlier – on an evening where the pair met a friend’s house, for a drink or two ahead of a music festival.
A beautiful Perth sunset led David to pop the question, in Tessa’s words “On Thursday 21st December 2017, a few days after our fourth anniversary. David wanted to go down to the beach for a drink to watch the sunset. We sat in the same place we had our second anniversary and before the sunset, he asked me to stand up and said he would love me forever and would I like to be his wife! I was so happy and in such shock, I cried myself into a migraine!!”
The bride chose a beautiful Sottero and Midgley gown from Dion For Brides, telling “I never thought I would go for a fitted dress but it fit me like a glove and I fell in love instantly. I felt so amazing on the day and wish I could wear it again!!”
Tessa and David said their vows at a beautiful outdoor garden. “It was a perfect sunny day for an outdoor wedding! Lucky!!” shares Tessa.
The bride walked down the aisle with her father to a cover of “So Into You” by Childish Gambino.
Tessa and David were married by Vikki Delle Donne. “We wanted the ceremony to just be full of love with all our nearest and dearest” tells the bride. “It was relaxed and short and we didn’t have any readings. We both wrote our own vows which meant so much to us!”
Tessa and David were thrilled with their choice of a photographer. “Anna was AMAZING!! She captured the day from start to finish with such ease. She made us all feel so comfortable and the photos turned out so amazing.”
A glam wedding calls for a glam reception, Tessa and David choosing Travelling Jaspers to style their marquee reception at Quarry Amphitheatre. “I just wanted to be as beautiful as it could. Amber listened to our vision and just ran with it. She nailed it in ways I didn’t think possible. It was truly a dream come true. I wanted every aspect to tie into each other starting from the bridesmaid dresses, the ceremony colours and into the reception.”
Tables were adorned with blooms, complemented by hanging installations overhead also by stylist Amber Jasper. Tessa noting “My wedding planner and stylist Amber nailed the flowers. The colours were out of this world. I wanted pink, white and brighter pops of colour, roses and orchids. All the different tones of colour suited to the furniture and venue perfectly. We also had greenery to break up the colour. The Quarry was covered with hanging floral installations and the bridal table was a floral jungle! I wish I could relive this every day.”
“Our first dance was a cover of the Sia song “Golden” by Anchor and Bell” tells Tessa. “I stumbled across it on YouTube and it suited us perfectly.”
“The whole day was just special”, remarks the bride. “For both of us having my Nan and Pop and David’s Gran there was really special. My Pop did not leave the dance floor and the video of him and I dancing will be something I will treasure forever. David and I made sure we walked away and spent some time together to take it in and that was really special to us. Everybody’s name tags at their table were on a small white tile which was a cute little extra as David is a tiler.”
A big congratulations to you both Tessa and David! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous day with us. Thank you also to Anna Pretorius Photography for today’s beautiful wedding images!
