If there ever was a trend that took the wedding world by storm, it was boho. Boho weddings covered every inch of the globe for a while there and while they’re still popular in their effortless beauty, today’s editorial takes somewhat of a fresh look at the boho wedding look.
With the amazing Cat of Woods & Bloom on styling and florals and Fennel & Fern in charge of capturing it all, our dream team took to the forest to makeover bohemian styling with a modern edge.
Our real-life couple, Jacqueline and Ryan acted as our bride and groom – a couple who chose the stunning forest backdrop to say their vows, ever so privately.
Jacqueline, dressed in a beautiful Wolff & Bone gown, blended the effortlessly beautiful gown with modern ponytail (by Sass and Niki) and beautiful makeup by Sian Howard Makeup, A felt hat from Lack of Colour uniquely paired with a veil finishing her look. Ryan accompanying her in a bone coloured blazer and mustard brown pants from Suits Direct.
As the couple made their own kind of magic with their vows in the forest, underneath a floral-clad wooden arbour by Woods & Bloom, the rest of the dream team created their own special dinner, just for two, to celebrate. Whimsical fun stationery from The Frankie Collective summing up the vibe with a stationery suite printed with the phrase “nothing fancy just love”. A floral adorned table, that brought in tones of nature with a tran-seasonal flair – natural wheat, taupes, coral pinks and deep reds chosen to inspire something a little unexpected. The scene set with taupe crockery, straw mats and gold flatware to bring the boho styling right on trend. Wire chairs from The Perfect Party Co the finishing touch.
The masterpiece of a cake, designed by Caked Cakes brought to life stunning copper tones, feathery foliage and texture. The cake, of Swiss buttercream hand, painted for a wild and rustic effect.
And while bubbles were of course included, it was the Limited Edition ‘Til Death Do Us Tart’ beer from a local brewer’s (Brouhaha Boutique Brewery) own wedding that really deserves its place in the spotlight. A cold beverage the most blissful way to celebrate a very special tying of the knot.
