There are few designers that cause as much of a stir, are as worn and are as wholly loved on our shores as Grace Loves Lace.
The gowns share that luxe, romantic feminine and that utterly effortless laid back style that is so dreamed of by so many. So today, we’re a little over the moon to celebrate the release of their brand new 2019/2020 “La Bamba” collection by sharing every single beautiful image to feast your eyes upon- shot by the talented Emily Abay with Cheyenne Tozzi at the incredible The Range Byron Bay. This collection? Oh, it’s a feast for your senses and everything you love about this Queensland brand.
“La Bamba” debuts thirteen beautiful new gowns for the brand, the first under new Head of Design Rosie Keating. The collection staying true to the brand’s vision of beautiful gowns that are stunning, yet comfortable and easy to move in. “We wanted to create bling without the bling – gowns that shine and shimmer on the skin without heavy adornment and embellishment” explains designer Megan Ziems. “We focused on the scale and placement of fabric to contour the body, and using stretch lace to flatter and highlight every curve and increase wearability.”
And this collection is a beauty – the designers working with in-house designed metallic laces, beautiful bias cut Crepe de Chine, burnout silks and comfortable stretch laces. “La Bamba” even bringing to life a suite of bias-cut silk gowns worked to be just right for many years. And the colours too stray from traditional bridal white – there’s beautiful muted shades like antique gold, that add a sense of romance, and of unexpected beauty.
Megan sharing “Our vision has been to create gowns that are dramatic and effortless – fabrics and shapes that have visual impact whilst still being lightweight and easy to wear, rather than traditional, restrictive dresses that don’t allow women to move freely.”
With nine years of the brand under their belt, it was important to Grace Loves Lace that the collection is holistic – so there are plenty of accessories to finish your look. Beaded veils, lace edged hairpieces, sparkling socks, hair bun pieces and ankles. Certain gowns even come with the option to add their own statement, beaded back pieces for a little extra bling.
