Cristin and Dean
It was complete fate that Dean and Cristin met. Arriving at a Bondi Beach New Years Eve party in 2009, he proclaimed tonight was the night he would meet his future wife. Enter Cristin! And well, you can guess how this story plays out, and spoiler alert? It ends with today’s beautiful waterside Sunshine Coast wedding.
Captured with effortless beauty by Alan Hughes the pair chose a modern, relaxed beachside vibe to their day. They wed by the beach, they roamed the seaside bushland for their photos, and they toasted with their guests at a favourite waterside restaurant, complete with epic Summer vibes.
The groom proposed over dinner in Sydney, Cristin filling us in on the story. “Dean took me out to dinner to a fancy dinner in Sydney to celebrate my new job. well, that was the cover story. After a beautiful dinner, we went for a walk around the city. He took me up to Observatory Hill which overlooks the Harbour Bridge and the city. I began to suspect something was up when he started babbling information about birds in the tree. I later found out he was stalling because there were others around. When it was just the two of us Dean dropped down to one knee and proposed.”
The bride chose a stunning lace gown with train from Made With Love. She remembers “It was actually really easy – I only went to one place. I wasn’t even looking for a dress, however, I saw a dress pop up on Instagram from Made With Love bridal so I thought I might check it out. I went to try it on as well as a few others from the store. I brought along my mum and a good friend. Without telling them which one that had originally caught my eye they both chose that dress. So it was sorted! I didn’t even go anywhere else.”
Cristin and Dean chose the sunshine filled Laguna Grove in Noosa for their ceremony, noting “We choose Laguna Grove for the ceremony as it was a beautiful spot that overlooked the beach.”
Cristin and Dean trusted First Class Functions to style the day, right down to the florals! “All the vendors were fantastic, they were all really friendly and easy going which made the organization and the day itself stress-free” remarks the bride.
The bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her father to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”.
Cristin and Dean wanted a laid back vibe to their day, and it began with the tone set for their ceremony, Cristin telling “The ceremony was relaxed, personal and a bit of fun. It wasn’t too long, the highlight was hearing each other vows that we wrote for each other.”
First Class Functions created beautiful lush floral arrangements for the day, the bride wanting to honour native Australian blooms. Cristin explaining “I knew I wanted native flowers. Annie at First Class functions helped in choosing the colours and arrangements for the flowers. I wasn’t sure what they would look like until I saw them on the day and I absolutely loved them.”
The couple worked with Alan Hughes to capture their day, Cristin remarking “Alan was amazing, he made us feel very relaxed and we had a lot of fun getting photos on the day. There are so many good photos to choose from. I love the way Alan captured the different moments of the day. We didn’t even realise he was taking most of the photos.”
The modern Noosa Waterfront Restaurant hosted dinner and dancing to celebrate the newlyweds. “We loved the chilled out atmosphere and particularly liked the outdoor area which overlooked the Noosa river.”
With the groom’s love of The Beatles, it was natural that the newlyweds took to the dance floor to The Beatles “In My Life”. “We made sure to have an Ed Sheeran song and a Beatles song because they are both favourites of ours. We also made sure that all our nieces and nephews were included and felt apart of the day because they are a very special part of our lives” tells the bride.
A big congratulations Cristin and Dean! What a joy it was to share your story today! Thank you to Alan Hughes for sharing today’s beautiful celebration with us!
