Australian designers are always the ones who have our heart and designer Cathleen Jia based out of Melbourne is one such name that saw her brand blossom and glow since her launch in 2011 into a brand that one can know and trust will produce beautiful bridal pieces, with that Australian flair for design.

The timeless, vintage style Cathleen loves has always taken centre stage with her pieces, using beautiful, luxe fabrics and reinventing them into beautiful wedding gowns inspired by yesteryear.

Her new ready to wear collection “Poetic Soul” (captured by Jessica Abby Photography) was inspired by the mix and match layered separates of previous collections to allow brides to be to combine favourite details and elements from any of the designer’s collections to create your own unique look.

“We want our brides to feel liberated, ” says Cathleen of her inspiration. “Our collections are for women who don’t want to compromise on their uniqueness, values or integrity to have the dress of their dreams.” The designer has worked to include her new learned techniques to complement her inherent understanding of dressing different body shapes and personalities. By combining draping techniques, fabric manipulation, and non traditional detail applications, it’s all rather, well poetic! My favourite? Being a Winter lover, “Wynter” with its elegant long sleeves, godet skirt and two types of lace, ticked all of the boxes!
