Ash & Stuart
The country charm of Ash & Stuart’s relaxed Toorannie Farm wedding is absolutely gorgeous. From the gingham checked shirt that the groom wore, to the station charts attached to old farm gates. Every little moment of today’s celebration reflected the lifestyle and loves of our newlyweds and to me? That makes a wedding the perfect kind to curl up with a cup of tea and dream over.
Photographer Georgie James captured all of the gorgeous country moments as they unfolded (including the most beautiful country sunset!)
The couple met at work – Stuart winning Ash over with his old-fashioned charm, Stuart proposing in true country style! Ash remembers “It was an Easter Sunday. Stu took me down to the creek for a delicious meal in the camp-oven with our dogs. It was perfect just us and the dogs to share in the special moment, he got down on one knee (after a few beers) and asked me to marry him!”
Ash chose a simple white Rue de Seine lace gown from Through The White Door. She tells “The experience was lovely. It was the last shop of the day tucked away in North Fremantle. My mum and best friend were also there to share in the experience.
I choose the dress because it was me. Simple and elegant with a low back (I have always wanted a low back gown).”
Ash walked down the aisle with her father to the sound of “Free” by the Zac Brown Band.
Vanessa Ranken performed the ceremony, Ash telling “The ceremony was very relaxed surrounded by our friends and family. We are very no fuss therefore the ceremony was too. We were married under a beautiful big tree in the backyard. No readings were included.”
The couple chose a family farm for the celebrations, Ash explaining “We originally had two venues chosen for the day but due to some devastating flooding in Tocumwal we moved it all to one venue.
Stu and I got married on his family farm Toorannie in Tocumwal. It both holds a special place in our hearts and is just absolutely stunning with amazing gardens and lawns surrounding the homestead.”
Belle & Gracie Botanical styled stunning native bouquets, Ash telling “The flowers were a perfect representation of us. Nothing too fancy but beautiful statement pieces.”
Ash notes “Georgie James, was the most delightful photographer we have come across. She is extremely down to earth and for someone who is following their dreams, she is absolutely smashing it.”
The couple chose a marquee reception, seating guests at long tables and adorning tables with mismatched glass bottles filled with native flowers.
Simone Ford Catering designed a menu that was full of country wedding charm. Ash remarks “We loved being able to provide our most dearest family and friends with wonderful food, drinks and atmosphere.”
The newlyweds made sure to include their two Jack Russell dogs in the day.
Of their first dance, Ash tells “We chose the song Make you Mine by High Valley. We are both terrible dancers so the first dance was nothing flash!!! Stu also hates dancing so you can all imagine how it went!!!”
Congratulations on your marriage Ash and Stuart! Thank you for taking the time to share your stories with us! Thank you also to Georgie James for sharing today’s photographs with us!
