For a stunning summer wedding which offers a rare combination of manicured gardens with sparkling lights of city skyscrapers, you can’t beat the majestic charm of the 18th Century Georgian Bishops House. There are several different function options at this heritage building, including an al fresco setting in the beautiful rose garden or a more intimate experience in one of the four private rooms or balcony. You can also hold your official ceremony in the landscaped gardens which means your guests won’t have to move from place to place. Perfect!

For lovers of all things a bit quirky and different, the heritage art gallery in the Moores Building in Fremantle is a fabulous rustic chic wedding venue for both summer and winter celebrations. There’s a delightful courtyard in this old merchant’s warehouse which looks sensational when the limestone surrounds are lit by candles or fairy lights – plus the lounge-style cartway and more extensive front room can be combined to create a larger space. The food at this unique eatery is legendary, plus guests are able to supply their own alcohol which can lower costs substantially.

Best known as a vibey cafe and bar, the Flour Factory also has one of the most enchanting event spaces in Perth. Originally a mill, this 100-year old building has been transformed into one of Perth’s major hospitality landmarks, with several unique function spaces including an intimate rooftop garden and the beautiful Top Floor with its pristine white walls, brick features, exposed beams and polished wooden floors. The highly experienced event team will look after every detail of your special day, with the close proximity to public transport and easy parking over the road an added advantage of this absolute gem of an urban venue.

Another gorgeous option for your ‘happily ever after’ celebration is the Vaudeville Room at the newly renovated Guildford Hotel.
It can hold up to 100 guests for a cocktail-style reception or if you want a seated function with a dance-floor, it can hold up to 70 of your closest friends and family. First built in the 19th century, this iconic destination has been fully restored after a devastating fire in 2008 and now stands proudly in her original guise as the grand old dame of Guildford. With the picturesque Swan River right there for idyllic photo opportunities and only a short hop to the main train station, this majestic landmark is the perfect spot to create your own slice of history.

With an established reputation as one of the top places to visit in Perth, The Bell Tower is also known as one of the city’s very best wedding venues. It offers a spectacular backdrop for your special day with manicured lawns and gardens, spectacular water features, city skyline and the picturesque Swan River all adding a major ‘wow’ factor to your special celebration. They have an experienced functions team who are on hand to attend to every little detail – plus you can even ring in the next chapter of your newly married life with a customised chiming of the historic 400 year-old cast iron bells.
These are only five of the top choices for small wedding venues in Perth, but there are many more destinations you can look at, depending on your tastes, the timing and of course, the budget. Wherever you choose, you’re sure to make the celebration as unique and as magical as your partnership because as this quote from an unknown person says: ‘Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale’.
Ms Polka Dot says: From rustic to quirky, Perth brides are spoilt for choice with venues that are historic and charming – just perfect for a smaller wedding.

Love this list. I can also suggest The Orangery Gallery in Shenton Park for intimate wedding ceremonies. It is an old corner shop with original floorboards and high ceilings, dating from 1901. It can seat around 50-60 people for the ceremony. It is not set up for receptions.
