Today’s engagement inspiration is something a little different, with the couple Eliise and Sam choosing to have photographer Caroline Sada capture their romantic and joyful engagement party, surrounded by their family and friends. “We’re both quite laid back and just wanted something that was simple, homely and fun, but mostly reflect the atmosphere – happy people,” explains bride Eliise of the party that was held at Sam’s parent’s home. “It was all really effortless and relaxed. We think Caroline nailed the photography!”
The pair met in Estonia back in 2011 when Sam was living in Sweden and traveling around Europe. “It was a quiet Wednesday night and we met at a bar whilst out with friends,” remembers the bride. “We have been inseparable since. After we met, we were in a long distance relationship for a couple of years, only seeing each other after every few months. I then graduated university and moved to Australia. It’s been a long journey for us, but we always knew we’d be together no matter what.” Same and Eliise are to be married in Estonia at the end of the year.
Eliise tells of their sweet proposal story. “I am a jewellery designer, so it was pretty hard for Sam to surprise me. Plus I knows what I likes when it comes to jewellery! Sam asked me to design the ring, and after it was ready, he planned a beautiful weekend away in Marysville. We hiked to the top of the mountain where he proposed, followed by a beautiful lunch at a winery. It was the most magical day!”
“Sam is the most honourable man I know. He always does what he promises, and I know that he loves me more than anything. He makes me coffee and breakfast in bed every weekend!” laughs Eliise of her dashing husband to be. Sam comments that he thinks the two of them balance each other well, and that Eliise is very supportive and loving.
