This week on ‘Behind The Door With’ I’m up in beautiful Brisbane to visit a very yummy business, Cuisine on Cue. Operating since 1995, Cuisine on Cue pride themselves on creating the freshest local and seasonal cuisine for any event, but especially weddings. Cuisine on Cue also offers full event planning including organising event equipment, staffing, event theming and venue hire.
I meet General Manager Anna who tells me that for them, it’s all about the food. Operating from a commercial kitchen in Brisbane’s CBD, Cuisine on Cue work all over Brisbane and South East Queensland and can set up a kitchen wherever they need to. They have great relationships with a number of venues which means brides and grooms can expect a flawless food service and their dream menu produced by talented chefs on the night.
Cuisine on Cue are unique in that they provide couples with a wedding planner who is able to organise everything from choosing a venue, flower arrangements, entertainment and all the other fine details to make every wedding day special day truly memorable. “Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate low-key dinner with friends or a glamorous cocktail and canapé soiree, we know of a space to suit every style and budget” says Anna.
Cuisine on Cue love staying up to date with the latest food trends and can offer couples many different dining options from antipasto to interactive food stations. “Antipasto and cheese tables are a great alternative to canapes and look amazing when set out in a rustic style” says Anna. “Think wooden boards, fresh herbs and lots of colour for an option that will be both enjoyed and look amazing in your photos!” I also love the idea of Cuisine on Cue’s paella station or Texas BBQ turning smokey beef brisket into sliders!
Cuisine on Cue are also lucky enough to operate their own wedding venue, Walkabout Creek. Nestled within the tranquil rain forest of D’Aguilar National Park, located 12 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD, it’s the perfect venue for weddings with multiple ceremony and reception spaces both indoor and outdoor.
Anna tells me that they are very excited to be giving Walkabout Creek a face lift very soon and that there will be lots of new exciting changes at the popular venue. Although I’m sure the beautiful rain forest scenery will stay, getting married near beautiful trees with delicious food are wonderful ingredients for an amazing wedding!

About Amelia Waddell of Make Your Day Wedding Styling: I’m a wedding stylist and proud store owner who loves to chat weddings with everyone and anyone! I love to talk shop with other business owners (particularly over some chocolate cake!) and am the first to try and have a sticky beak behind the scenes of any event. My free time is spent ‘investigating’ new cafes, stores and events.
