Traditionally used as an aperitif, we couldn’t resist this recipe from Amaro Montenegro for their ‘Monte Negroni’ cocktail this week. One of Italy’s finest liquers, Montenegro is one of the hottest drinks this Summer; with its hint of orange peel, coriander, tea, caramel and chestnut honey, it really is pure velvet! Perfect for welcome cocktails don’t you think?
30ml Amaro Montenegro
30ml sweet vermouth
Orange peel to garnish
In a mixing glass, muddle all the ingredients over cold ice. Strain into a glass (champagne saucers work well – and look great!) and garnish with orange peel.
