Kristina & Vincent
A wedding at a historic homestead is always beautiful and today’s classic Rippon Lea wedding has all the trimmings of a subtly beautiful traditional celebration. All captured by OnThree Photography & Cinematic .
Kristina remembers the story of how they came to be. “In 2009 I was celebrating my best girlfriend’s birthday at a bar in the city. As soon as we entered the venue a tall, handsome man immediately caught my eye. After a few hours (and cocktails) the tall handsome man approached me at the bar and congratulated me. When I asked him what he was congratulating me for he replied, “for being the most beautiful girl that I’ve ever seen in my life”. As corny as that may have been at the time, I knew this man would make me smile for the rest of my life. Not a day goes by that Beau doesn’t make me smile and laugh as much as he did on the night that we first met, and that’s why I know that he’s the love of my life.”
Kristina chose a gown by Leah S Designs noting, “The main concern for me was to choose a dress that when I looked back on it years later, wouldn’t be horrified by it! I wanted something timeless and classic that would last through the years. Trying on at least 30 dresses – from big princess styles to fitted lace dresses I eventually went with an understated and simple Leah S dress! The dress was so elegantly simple, I felt confident that no matter how much time passed I’d always be happy with my choice.”
Kristina and Vincent chose Ripponlea Estate for their day, noting, “Ripponlea was always the dream location for us, ever since the moment Vincent and I even started talking about getting married. It’s such a beautiful location and suited our wedding theme perfectly! We were so lucky that we were able to get in during March, because we know how popular the venue is throughout summer, and thankfully everything looks so beautiful in our photos! I don’t think we could have planned it to be any more perfect for us.”
Of her walk down the aisle, Kristina remembers, “We chose “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley. On one of Vincent and my first dates we were watching a film that played “Hallelujah” at the end, I sat there sobbing over the romantic movie that we’d just watched as it played and Vincent sat there laughing at me. He’s never let me live it down and it’s been one of our favourite songs since.”
“From as far back as I can remember I had always envisioned having a traditional vintage wedding with lots of white, gold and flowers. Vincent and I have always had similar taste, so choosing our colour scheme, flowers etc. was a breeze! We wanted to plan our day so that it would look perfect, but also so that our friends and family would have an equally enjoyable time as us. Ripponlea ensured that our day ran perfectly, and everything looked as amazing as we’d hoped! I was so grateful that we didn’t have a single issue throughout our entire day!”
“I think that our wedding day felt so flawless because we got to celebrate our love in front of all of our closest friends and family, in an atmosphere that looked immaculate yet allowed us to feel at home. Our reception was full of dancing and laughter (maybe a few too many glasses of champagne) and I have the most fantastic memory of my dad and my best friend doing an amazingly embarrassing dance together… This is probably one of my favourite memories now, if only I could describe it through writing!”
Kristina remembers, “Vincent and I had been taking dance lessons leading up to our wedding for about 3 months. That may sound excessive but between the two of us, we’re both absolutely shocking dancers. Well we were at least; we got lots of compliments after our first dance. I’d never actually felt more graceful in my entire life! The fun dancing came after, less fear of tripping on my dress and looking ridiculous in front of everyone.”
Congratulations on your marriage Kristina and Vincent! Than k you to OnThree Photography & Cinematic and Giant Invitations for sharing today’s celebration.
