There is not much I like more than an afternoon cup of tea and it’s one of my favourite ways to catch up for a girly celebration.
Today, I’m rounding up fabulous high tea venues in Australia for pre wedding parties. Restaurants with modern details, bars with retro decor, high tea with vodka, cupcakes and macarons. These are my favourite spots for a pre-wedding celebration.
Do tell me, where do you go for a spot of high tea?
Impala and Peacock Tea Atelier, Brunswick
Tea house Impala and Peacock Tea Atelier love a wonderful cup of tea and are known for their in house blended tea blends – making them a top spot for high tea!
Of course, being a tea specialist, the tea on offer is the highest quality loose leaf blends and a selection of five fine teas are matched to your sweet treats. While tea cakes and scones are on the menu, they’re also known for their healthy, high tea vegetarian goodies that tick the taste boxes.
If you like your high tea with a twist, then the Food Society, Darlinghurst vodka high tea might just be what you’re looking for. Kicking off with the soft stuff – single origin tea blends, Food Society offers three packages, one with tea based vodka cocktails, another with glasses of fine French champagne along with decadently delicious high tea fare like goat’s cheese tartlettes, sweet tea trifles and classic finger sandwiches.
Perthies will love Rochelle Adonis, Perth for their high tea. Guests are seated at beautiful marble tables and seated with fine floral tea cups as they enjoy delicious French press coffee, beautiful teas and of course – the food.
Known for their cakes and pastries, you won’t be disappointed (or bored, each high tea is different!) with the delicious sandwiches, cakes and sweets all made in house to the highest quality.
Spring Food & Wine, Brisbane are known for amazing food, so a high tea at this gorgeous restaurant is sure to be a delight. Clotted cream and scones, finger sandwiches (all the favourites like cucumber, house baked ham and mustard, egg & mayonnaise and smoked salmon and cream fraiche included) along with house baked sweet cakes and petit fours.
Add endless cups of tea and a glass or two of sparkling and your afternoon tea party? It’s all set!
For a classic high tea, complete with classic Royal Albert fine chine, one can’t go past the The Tea Room, QVB, Sydney. The grand architecture sets the scene for a grand celebration with freshly made sandwiches (including favourites like chicken and walnut) and cakes (with delights like cupcakes and scones).
Don’t forget of course, all of this is accompanied by beautiful teas, bubbles and the option of French champagne.
If a garden party on a rooftop is your style, then you’ll know Madame Brussels, Melbourne is the place to go. Jugs of pink cocktails, finger sandwiches (pickles & ham, poached chicken and curried egg and cucumber of course), and dessert of eclairs and cupcakes and scones to round it out.
Of course, the atmosphere here is the real winner – parasols, sunshine and astroturf with all the fun of a perfectly sweet garden party.
As the name suggests, Just Tickled Pink, Adelaide is well, rather pink. But that’s the charm of this sweet little cafe decorated with all your girly pleasures in one sweet space. Start off the celebrations with a mocktail (pink of course!) before you enjoy china tea cups of freshly brewed tea with scones, cupcakes, sandwiches (finger and London style of course) and warm treats.
I asked my tea loving Brisbane friend for this recommendation, one who loves all things vintage and beautiful! Room with Roses, Brisbane offers up three different high tea packages. We start with the classic ribbon sandwiches and scones along with sweet treats.
But then things get interesting with chocolate high teas – I know! Add in delicious chocolate cakes and chocolate cakes with chocolate tarts. Or, go one better with the third option and add chocolate fondue (completely with strawberries and marshmallows for dipping). Tea flows freely with French champagne available.
Delicious! Thanks Polka dot Bride 🙂
