Fraser Suites Perth’s recent second annual Wedding Expo was a great success! Delightfully curated, it was an intimate affair where local bridal businesses decorated the main function room with their displays. There were plenty of hotel staff available on the day who could assist with queries about wedding packages. It was excellent way to get to see the venue in this setting as there were set-up examples of table settings and decorations, which in turn gave you an idea of how the function room can look. I was also lucky enough to attend a cooking demonstration by Pete Evans where he spoke about his nutritional ethos and partnership with the hotel.
The wedding packages provided were very impressive – particularly with the hotel’s commitment to fair pricing at a reasonable cost per head. If you wish you can have your ceremony on the outdoor patio area – deliberately worked to reflect a blank canvas so you can decorate it to suit your theme.
I was invited to attend Fraser Suites Perth to fully experience how they cater for weddings – and to enjoy the acclaimed restaurant Heirloom. On the first night, the manager Alison gave me a tour of the suites, where I was able to get a sneak peek of the Bridal suites. These suites are roomy, yet cozy, and look over the Swan River from their spacious balconies. The hotel is located in East Perth – a short walk from the main CBD – and is comprised of apartment-style rooms that have a lovely modern yet fresh fit-out that also feel homely and comfortable.
Heirloom is the highly regarded restaurant, headed by Pete Evans, located within the hotel. At the cooking demonstration, he spoke about the partnership with Fraser Suites Perth where he approached them with the concept of a fine dining restaurant that had a commitment to health and they enthusiastically partnered with him. He designs the menu with the head chef to offer a unique dining experience – including a menu with Paleo influences – a rarity in fine dining.
I became quickly obsessed with the buffet breakfast including fresh honeycomb for your toast, a variety of fruity chia puddings, amazing scrambled eggs, pastries, bacon and delicious kale. Pairing the word delicious with kale is quite the achievement; I was blown away by the amazing modern buffet. It’s well worth a look-in.
My suite, blessed with a brilliant view overlooking the river, was bigger than my two bedroom apartment in Melbourne and I wanted to cut laps around it; it was so spacious. I also wanted to pull a Macaulay Culkin circa ‘Home Alone 2’ and order all of the room service; instead I behaved and settled on the macadamia-crusted chicken schnitzel – which was predictably no ordinary pub fare!
On the final day the chef made me an amazing nut loaf which the hotel served with meals during my stay. It was an incredible send-off gift that I devoured in full!
It was such a pleasure to be a part of this event and visit Fraser Suites Perth. I was looked after so well and enjoyed my chance to comprehensively experience all this sophisticated hotel has to offer; for weddings and honeymoon romance, it’s second to none!
Ms Chinoiserie Says: Absolute luxury on the Swan River; love the chic patio space for outdoor summer weddings!
