Kate & Stuart
Kate and Stuart wanted a modern, relaxed feel for their wedding day. They borrowed a friend’s house – with an incredible view and hosted a formal cocktail party wedding with their nearest and dearest. While the bride and groom’s love story takes centre stage, there is no doubt Stuart’s son Ajax is one of the big stars of the show. Glass Slipper Photography were there to ensure all the fun was caught on film.
Kate tells the story of how she and Stuart came to be. “We met 12 years ago on the dance floor and became friends. Over time we lost contact and went our separate ways, but through the magic of Facebook we found each other again and the rest is history!”
The bride found her stunning, shimmering milk chocolate coloured gown from Sentani Boutique, and paired it with shoes from Tony Bianco.
The couple held their ceremony and reception at a friend’s house in Broadbeach.
Kate remembers, “My favourite moment of the day was seeing all the happy, smiling, teary faces of everyone just before walking down the aisle. They looked so happy, it was like a wave of overwhelming happiness hits you in that split second.”
Michelle Anderson, also the groom’s sister, officiated the ceremony, Kate notes, “As we had both been married previously, we wanted to have a very laid back ceremony and wedding day in general. We only wanted our closest and most special friends and family involved and we wanted to keep both ceremony and reception low key and simple. As Stuart’s sister, Michelle, is a celebrant, we made sure she played a major part in our wedding day. Michelle, went out of her way to organise the small details for the ceremony, including setting up a pretty area for us to do the signing.”
One of the groom’s favourite memories is hearing his son saying “yes! yes! yes!” during the ceremony.
Of their photographer, Kate notes, “Our photographers were really creative when it came to our location shoot, so we have excellent memories of the day.”
Guests enjoyed a feast by Prestidge Catering and cupcakes from The Little Cupcakes, the bride remembering, “Our caterers were really helpful and kept everyone well fed.”
Of the mood for their day, Kate remarks, “The vibe we wanted was a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Like a super fancy and formal family cocktail party with our best friends.”
Congratulations Kate and Stuart! Thank you for sharing the stories of your wedding day! Thank you also to Glass Slipper Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
