In 2016, Samantha Wynne will celebrate her 20th anniversary, an amazing milestone for her as a wedding couture designer.
To celebrate Samantha’s achievement, we will be looking back at 20 years of her bridal designs – and watching the evolution of her gowns with a detailed case study on one of her lovely ‘Real Brides’ from each five-year period.
Along the way, I’m sure we’ll see not only changes in fashion trends, but photography styles, flower choices, cakes, colours, accessories, venues, music and more. A wonderful step back in time to recognize a stellar career!
Our first case study features Tabatha from the period 1996 – 2001:

“Tabatha dreamed of a fairytale princess style of wedding dress. Something dramatic yet simply elegant – when she saw my sketches she was sold! When Tabatha came in for her first special one on one appointment to try on her gown, it was love at first sight,” says Samantha.
“If my husband and I were ever to renew our vows and have another wedding, I don’t know if I would wear the same dress but I would definitely have Samantha make me another. Two dream dresses are better than one after all!” says Tabatha.
“I will never forget making the dress, it was so beautiful,” reminisces Samantha. “Tabatha wanted a classic, timeless ball-gown and we made it in a beautiful duchess satin. The skirt was pleated and as full as we could make it. Her waist was a size 4! The train was a stunning chapel length train which was fitting for my favorite church, St Joseph’s in Subiaco. The aisle is so long and the church itself is so beautiful that we needed a WOW factor.”
“Her stunning bodice was self faced in duchess satin and I mounted a beautiful embroidered tulle lace on top with a self covered button and loop detail down the back to emphasize her gorgeous little figure. The inspiration came from wanting a gown that was timeless, classic and would never date in photographs. Tabatha was voted Bride of the Year in 2000 by Perth Bride Magazine.”
