Maritsa & Brock
I am on a bit of a Spring crusade lovely – something about the romance of fresh blooms, fresh colours and fresh life makes me so very happy. Marista and Brock certainly embraced the season with their sweet Spring wedding – from the watercolour flower adorned invitations, to their reception filled with fresh flowers. Quince and Mulberry Studio was there to capture every moment – falling in love with the heartfelt moments, the dancing, the family warmth and the tables of food. This is what Spring is all about!
September Creative created the hand painted wedding stationery for the day.
Green & Bloom created the floral arrangements for the day, Maritsa remembering, “Roberta was like my wedding planner, florists, stylist and counselor all in one. She had great ideas, attention to detail and creates breathtaking floral arrangements.”
Roma Street Parklands was chosen for the wedding ceremony, Maritsa telling, “We love living in Brisbane so Roma St Parklands was a great location to have our ceremony. The lawns and gardens are well looked after so that it is perfect for the big day. There are huge old trees in the parkland so they create a great backdrop for photos.”
Maritsa walked down the aisle to Meiko – Stuck On You. “The lyrics are perfect and it is a nice upbeat song.”
“The bridal party was made up of my sister as maid of honour and Brock’s two sisters as the bridesmaids. Brock’s best man was his best mate Martin and my two cousins as the groomsmen. We are all very close so I knew it would be a good group of people to share our special day with. We had so much fun and lots of laughs on the together on the day which made the day less stressful.”
The wedding had one very special guest. “Lilly, our dog joined us at the ceremony. She must have known it was a special day because she was walking around like a very happy puppy.”
Of their photographer, Maritsa remembers, “Kate, from Quince and Mulberry Studios was beyond perfect in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. She is more than a photographer. She made us feel at ease and ensured we enjoyed ourselves on the day. She was so organised with her backpack full of hydralyte, panadol, and anything to keep the bridal party going. She had a great understanding of what we wanted on the day. The pictures that Kate captured were better than we ever expected. She captured every emotion, kiss, dance and the entire day so perfectly. I still look at pictures everyday.”
Maritsa managed to get one of her much wanted photographs, explaining, “I had walked through the city one day and saw a bridal party running out on the street and posing for photos and then running off again. So, I had hoped we could make that happen on our big day. We tried it and we all had so much fun. The pictures turned out great too.”
Maritsa and Brock chose Spring Food and Wine for their wedding reception, the bride remembering, “I had been to Spring Food and Wine a few times before booking and knew that the food was great, the vibe was happy and the staff were very friendly. It was a perfect place for a small intimate wedding. They catered to many different needs and had great communication throughout the whole process. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to Jaz. She was very organised so we enjoyed the night and didn’t need to worry about anything.”
“We had a floral frame set up for the photo booth. It was gorgeous and everyone enjoyed a few poses.”
Flour and Chocolate created a multilayer naked cake topped with fresh flowers.
The first dance was an unexpected success, Maritsa remembering, “We stressed for weeks before the wedding not knowing what song to have or how to waltz. We finally chose Nat King Cole- L.O.V.E. On the night, there was love in the air, Brock took me by the hand and it felt like a perfect dance surrounded by our friends and loved ones. Oh, and I sang the whole song too! ”
The couple added a traditional Greek touch to their rustic inspired wedding, the bride telling ,”I loved our wedding favours, a mix of rustic and traditional Greek. Mini Kraft boxes tied with twine and filled with sugar coated almonds. The bridesmaids and mothers put them together the night before the wedding. It was a nice thing to do altogether.”
