As a long time fan of Melbourne wedding gown designer Gwendolynne (we’ve featured her collections here, here here here here, here, here and here and just some of the Polka Dot Brides who walked down the aisle in Gwendolynne gowns here here here here and here) I am most excited about her newest idea – Gwendolynne “White” the first of the designer’s diffusion line for brides to be.
“White” is all about the brides who adore the Gwendolynne look but live interstate, haven’t got the lead time needed to create a made to measure gown or simply don’t have the budget. “White” is moderately priced (with gowns between $2,750 – $3,995) and take a mere six weeks (plus shipping) from ordering to arrival!
But don’t think that by sacrificing the made to measure Gwendolynne style you’re sacrificing your Gwendolynne experience. As with every gown, each piece is true to her signature style. Classic clean lines in beautiful shades of white and ivory, the collection features plenty of intricate Guipure and French lace, decadent imported silks, satins and soft tulle are pulled together into sun ray pleats, lace illusion necklines, softly draped trains, and interesting, breathtaking back detailing.
Bodices and skirts of the gowns are interchangeable, giving brides the chance to still have their own custom look, without the time and price of a made to measure frock. The pieces, which are made in the Fitzroy studio, can all be further customised with signature beaded waist bands and the addition of zip fastening make the gowns easy to alter, easy to fasten and easy to undo when the party is done and dusted.
Gwendolynne White are available from Gwendolynne’s Fitzroy salon or online via her website and ship Australia wide and internationally.
