I do love a modern wedding invitation so I was delighted to “E-meet” the lovely Jessica of Studio Silva, a graphic designer who creates custom stationery suites for birthdays, engagements and my favourite – weddings!
After studying visual art and communication design, Jessica’s attention turn to creation – she works with brands to create logos, look books and all kinds of stationery. With that strong graphic design sense comes a clean sense of style for wedding stationery. Jessica utilises old techniques – such as letterpress, with new printing methods.
For instance – the suite of James & Stephanie (featured above and below) is all about monochrome. Jessica designed an embossed hexagon pattern for the letterpress invitations which were paired with black envelopes with a calligraphy style white print. Each piece of the invitation suite carried the hexagon and calligraphy elements to create a suite that worked with the wedding – monochrome, elegant and modern.
Other suites feature bright yellow feature pieces, metallic foiling, hand drawn botanical elements and plenty of modern whimsy! Jessica works one on one with couples to create bespoke pieces that pull an event style together and really represent what it’s all about.
