Nicole & Brendon
Today’s handsomely, dramatic engagement shoot was captured entirely in black and white by Simon from gm photographics. The couple chose Intercontinental Hotel Sydney to create a dramatic setting, the couple noting, “We both love Helmut Newton’s photography. We wanted a dramatic black and white shoot that would be artistic and stylish throughout the decades.”
Isn’t there something incredible about an engagement photos in black and white? It brings such a sense of old world glamour focusing just on the shades of light and dark, the moods, the details.
Nicole wore a very special gown, the couple telling, “We didn’t want anything too cheesy. The aim was to have pieces of art on the wall and then for people to realise that it was actually us in the art. We didn’t want a blatant couple’s portrait as such. The dress in the engagement shoot is Brendon’s mother – Jule’s 21st dress. One day Jules brought the dress out to show Nicole. Nicole thought it was stunning and asked to borrow it for their engagement shoot. The engagement ring featured was created by Affinity Diamonds ”
On what she loves about Brendon, Nicole says, “I love Brendon’s big heart, extreme kindness, cheeky character and generous nature. He is a pillar of strength and support for me. I consider myself blessed to have found a true gentleman.”
Telling one of their funnier stories, the couple remember, “When we first got together Nicole believed Brendon had a cleaner. His house was far too tidy for a bachelor. Nicole and Brendon got to know each other by planning “adventure dates” and surprising the other with the activity and location on the day. Nicole being new to NSW and unfamiliar with the area sometimes booked activities that would take 2 – 3hours drive to arrive at the destination!”
Of the proposal, they tell, “Brendon organised a proposal on a balcony overlooking Manly beach followed by lunch. The proposal didn’t really go to plan but it was true to the couples ‘style’.”
On what he loves about Nicole, Brendon remarks, “The first thing that drew me to Nicole was her stunning looks. It was not long for me to fall in love with her sense of humour, playful nature and caring heart. I love Nicole’s love for life and determination. I have enjoyed our adventures together so far and cannot wait for our future adventures.”
A true work of art! Beautiful
