I love nothing more than seeing a designers brand new collection, a sense of excitement and anticipation as I see what the new collection holds. New Zealand designer Kelsey Genna is still brand new to the bridal arena with her 2014 collection only being her second but already her designs are strong and have a signature look to them – more edgy and inspiring. Kelsey sold her first gown at age 16 and launched her bridal label at age 21- she draws inspiration from travel, flowers and nature.
Kelsey Genna’s 2014 Bridal Collection builds on her first collection, but this time with the knowledge of what works for brides and what her clientele are wanting. That signature Kelsey Genna rosette that featured in her first collection is back, as are the mesh lace fabrics. Kelsey’s used traditional shapes and added twists – a bright saffron buttercup yellow, cascading layers, short shift minis with lace overlays, draped backs and that edge of difference that I love about Kelsey’s work.
To show off her gorgeous gowns in a different light, Kelsey teamed up with bride Anneka, photographer James Frost, florist Yvette Edwards and hair and makeup artist Liv Lundelis to shoot her new Sequin Verona Gown around the streets of Sydney.
