My amazing bridesmaids organised my hens party for me, the only thing I had mentioned was wanting to dress like a 1950’s roller waitress but I had no idea what they would do with that.

I had a blast, and I think we all did. The day started at my house for a couple of wines before head to Morley Rollerdrome  in our amazing 50’s inspired outfits. We happened to be there on the same day as 2 or 3 kids birthday parties so the place was really busy. We all had so much fun skate dancing around (they surprisingly still play the same music they played when I was a kid) and partaking in the games, I even won a kinder surprise, it was the best.

After rollerskating we went back to my place for food, drinks and games. Two of my bridesmaids had decorated an area for us and it looked so pretty, all lace and pretty with madmen posters and milkshakes and the origami kusudama a couple of us had made the week before, it was lovely.

We played games like alfoil bikini making and my little pony creating. It was so much fun. Then at 8pm a limo van with karaoke and a stripper pole we all swore we wouldn’t use but did arrived to take us to Fremantle where we went to the Norfolk for another champagne or two. Then we were driven up to kings park for the beautiful views to cap the night off. I couldn’t have planned it better myself and can’t thank the girls enough.

John and the boys hired a house down at Preston beach for the weekend for their pre wedding fun. There are no photos and I can only assume the rules associated with it are similar to the rules in fight club… they did say it was fun.

When it came to finding our wedding Photographer we knew we didn’t want really posed looking photos and we both wanted to feel comfortable with the person. We thought about using friends or friends of friends but it never worked out. In the end we came across a few photographers we liked the look of but we had very little time left to decide. We were starting to doubt availability, but we  chose our favourite and sent an email with our fingers crossed. Within a day or two we had a reply from Loren at Nectarine Photography, she was available on the 17th of August and had wanted to shoot a wedding at Woodbridge. We loved the feel and of course the look of her photos so we excitedly booked her in.

Loren offered a 2 hour engagement or Pre wedding shoot, so we could get to know her and she us. She had asked if we had any ideas of what we wanted do and we knew we wanted to do something fun so we would kind of forget we were being photographed. So we decided to head to Fremantle and meet her and have a stroll with holi powder in my backpack for a hopefully colourful fun ending. We had a really good time and got along with Loren straight away, and we love the photos.

Ms Gingham says: These images are absolutely stunning!!! LOVE THEM!

Nichola says: “I’m Nichola, I’m 27 and I live in Perth with my amazing fiancé John and our kitty Whiskey. I work in an arts & Craft store, as I’m a huge fan of the afternoon and also studied art & design. When I have time to spare I love to ride my bicycle or go for a roller skate with my lovely girl friends, we just like having a laugh and a wine and talking about movies, music and shows we have come across, or checking out new bars and exhibitions and we all have our own styles and personalities. In the end (as cheesy as it sounds) I’m just an ordinary girl with a love of fun, laughter & lovely things.”
