This incredible Gatsby Wedding Inspiration shoot was pulled together by The Wedding Collective- a talented group of Brisbane wedding professionals to show off their talents ahead of their annual Gala.
Comprising of Stewart Ross Photography, Wedding Films by Samantha Fletcher, Urban Weddings, Cake Star, The Babushka Ballerina, Wil Valor, Rush Entertainment, Epic Empire Furniture, White + White Weddings and Events, Amini Concepts, Bouquet Boutique & Wedding Bling. This year’s event will take on a Gatsby edge at Brisbane’s opulent Mirra Private Dining.
Rush Entertainment provided Gatsby-esq costumes and dancers to set the scene.
“The gold, art deco accents matched up with the glamour and opulence styling of the 1920’s era, provides so many possibilities and can be adapted for the modern bride; from a soft, romantic, vintage style of this Era to a full “Gatsby Glam” extravagance with over the top opulent styling.”
The “bride” wore a The Babushka Ballerina gown.
“For more of a subtle take of this theme, one or two key elements such as gold accents, embellishments or pop colours, like emerald can be incorporated into the wedding.”
Urban Weddings created black and gold stationery to compliment the art deco styling.
Bouquet Boutique created a bouquet in bronze hues. The floral centrepieces took on an opulent feel.
Wil Valor outfitted the “Groom” in a sharp bowtie and suit combination.
” As well as the styling, The Gatsby theme can be brought into other areas such as entertainment – Think swing bands and flapper dancers; as well at catering – what about creative canapés, signature cocktails and champagne towers!”
Cake Star created an art deco style cake with metallic and black detailing.
Wedding Films by Samantha Fletcher created a film to show off the event.

The era that inspires me most is the time from when my fiancé bent down on one knee and changed my life for ever, till the moment just before i say “I do” in front of all our friends and family. We can never reproduce a more perfect moment than the present!
Definatley the 1950’s with a dash of 1960’s mod. Think Elizabeth Taylor in ‘Father of the Bride’ meets James Dean in ‘Rebel Without a Cause’. This wedding would have eclectic style, vintage/retro outifts and, of course, an unforgettable lace dress.
Oh this is a beautiful shoot! Great job! I love the jewelry pieces used here especially the head piece!
