 There’s a lot of talk of bridal fashion and sometimes the fellas get left behind. So today I have some projects for grooms, more specifically dashing grooms with a vintage or steampunk style. Ready?

Steampunk groom materials

I picked up the watch parts at an antique store, but you can try Etsy for something similar. The cufflink and brooch backs can be found also be found on Etsy or your local craft or beading store. You can substitute strong mini-magnets instead of the brooch back if you wish.

Before you start, make sure you gently clean any excess grease from the watch parts. The aim is character, not dirtiness!

Buttonhole

1. Dab some glue onto a flat part of the watch back.

2. Immediately adhere a cog onto the glue and press firmly for a few seconds until dried. Repeat with further cogs and springs until desired look is achieved.

3. Apply a line of glue along a flat part of the watch back. Attach the brooch back.

Cufflinks

1. Apply a small amount of superglue to the cufflink.

2. Immediately adhere a cog onto the glue and press firmly for a few seconds until dried.

3. Repeat with further cogs until desired look is achieved. Allow glue to cure completely.
