Kristy and Tim
A celebration in the country is always one of the most popular kinds of occasions here at Polka Dot Bride. So many of us dream of an escape and the blank canvas of a beautiful paddock with the chance to do whatever we dream. Today’s couple Kristy and Tim did just that creating a beautiful, romantic country celebration at Tim’s family home.
Michelle Fiona Photography captured the wedding with the soft, dreamy romance that seems to speak from each photo.
Bride Kristy chose a Johanna Johnson gown with Peeptoe shoes and Mimco jewels.
Kristy and Tim were married on the NSW South Coast outside of Avondale. Kristy tells, “Tim and I were married at his Family home. We were so excited when his parents suggested it and we knew it was perfect.”
Gleniffer Strings provided the ceremony tunes, Kristy recalling, “For our ceremony Tim and I had a string trio play. I walked down the aisle to “Canon in D” by Pachelbel. I was lucky as I work with one of the ladies in the string trio and she was fantastic and helped with the choices for our day.”
Of their photographer, Kristy says, “Michelle was amazing it was as if she was not even there…. she was so relaxed and it made it so easy for us to just be us.”
The special touches were not forgotten with Kristy making sure to cover the things important to her. She says, “I am a little bit traditional so on my wedding day I was certain to have something old borrowed and blue. I wore my late grandmother’s ring which is blue. This meant the world to me and I’m sure she made our day so perfect. I also had a locket of my great grandmother’s put into my bouquet. This is something that my mum wore on her wedding day and so did all her sisters. It has a picture of great grandmother as a little girl in it.” Bunches Bulli created the floral arrangements.
Guests dined and danced under a marquee. Kristy tells, “Having the wedding at home meant that we needed to bring everything on site. We had weekly planning meeting with both sets of parents over dinner (usually on a Sunday night). It was great as we would all come together to make sure there was nothing missed out. Things that most people would never even think about where all checked off . For example commercial kitchen with ovens, cool rooms, wash tubs etc, toilets, transport for our guests, parking areas, lighting etc was all part of it. Both our parents where so supportive of our wishes and they did absolutely everything to make sure our day was perfect. We are so lucky to have them and for them to just get in and do what ever needed to be done.”
Kristy says, “It was the happiest day of our lives shared together with all our family and friends.”
For their first dance, the couple took to the dance floor underneath the stars and twinkling fairy lights, Kristy remembers, “I grew up dancing my whole life and ended up teaching ballet as job so there was no way we were getting away without a choreographed routine! Tim and I danced to “At Last” by Etta James. I think that everyone was quite surprised at how great Tim could move around the dance floor.”
Congratulations Kristy and Tim! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Michelle Fiona Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
Her dress was absolutely stunning and I loved the simple yet romantic feel of the wedding party table!
