I have just had a look at the wedding of Chelsea and Mark. It is amazing! I am especially interested in her veil and dress-how it floats as if it is light as a feather.
I am organising my own veil very very soon and I was wondering if you could PLEASE tell me what material I should be looking for. Can you please tell me exactly what material the veil and the flowy back part of the dress is made of?
We tracked down the exact fabric from the lovely Chelsea for your floaty gown look!
” The dress: vintage satin damask from my mother’s wedding dress with a large magnolia motif (1976- it cost about $80/m way back then- yikes)
Lining: sandwashed silk Habotai (15 momme)- a little luxury ($30/m from a specialist silk supplier)
The veil and train + removable bustle + tutu: It’s just a fine polyester tulle (I think 240cm wide or even wider??) Spotlight do carry some tulle that works but it is not as wide- the width is important for the veil- it was also what became the train so it was quite long also- we used two colours to avoid the lemon hues that the ivory can throw… a combination of snow white and ivory. ”
