Megan & Caleb
This gorgeous Australian high tea bush engagement shoot from Melbourne photographer Tigs Macallan who teamed up with Jill Exon of Table of Grace to put together this fun day in the bush. A beautiful home baked table of desserts was prepared by Jill who styled it together with her vintage cutlery and crockery providing a lovely setting for Megan and Caleb’s engagement photographs.
Megan tells how they met. “Caleb and I met when we were 21 at a pub in Melbourne called The Hawthorn. It was karaoke night and he came up and asked if I would like to get up and sing a song with him! Neither of us got up on stage, we spent the rest of the night chatting and when I left he got my mobile number. In the car on the way home I got my first message from Caleb and the rest is history! “
Megan tells the story of how Caleb proposed.”Our engagement adventure began on a Friday in June this year. Caleb and I both had a day off work and he had planned a day in the city visiting all the shops I love and eating all my favorite foods. We got home late in the afternoon and I thought that was the end of a lovely day together…next thing I knew Caleb told me to hop back in the car and he blindfolded me! We then drove for over an hour listening to music and laughing at how funny I looked to all the people on the road!
When we finally reached our location Caleb guided me (still blindfolded) out of the car and on a little walk. We stopped, and I heard Caleb’s voice near my feet ask me to take the blindfold off. I saw him on one knee with a ring and he asked me if I would marry him. Caleb had taken me to a little country town where we had our first night away together. He had walked me on to a swing bridge and proposed over the Yarra river. It was the most heartfelt, beautiful proposal and I of course accepted with lots of tears, hugs and kisses! “
