Winter has well and truly kicked in. Not in Cairns and Tropical North Queensland though! Here, the weather is generally the same all year round, and the best time to get married is this time of the year!
One of my favourite ceremony locations is at Wonga Beach, just north of Port Douglas. This quiet, secluded beach lays claim to being the ‘other’ side of Port Douglas. If you are after an intimate type of wedding, away from the hustle and bustle of expensive sarongs and convertibles, then this may be an option for you. Mossman is close by and boasts a beautiful church just by the most magnificent row of trees – many a couple celebrate and have photos taken there.
It really is a magical location to consider for your wedding.
Ms Gingham says: There’s so many different types of weddings you could have in Far North Queensland. Beach, forest, mountains….. it’s such a beautiful state and a stunning location for a destination wedding too.
About Melanie Serafin Civil Marriage Celebrant: Far North Queensland offers breathtaking locations for your special ceremony, from the beaches to the rainforest. Whether your choice is a helicopter ride to secluded cay, sailing the beautiful blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef, or an intimate gathering at one of the many unique venues, I would love to help make your special day a wonderful memory.
Would love to be at Wonga Beach right now! Soooo cold here I feel the need for a dose of tropical weather.
Even the spinkles of rain in the past weeks couldn’t stop my last two weddings! The Cairns Botanical Gardens was just a sea of green with splashes of magnificent colours only a few weeks ago. And a in-home, intimate wedding and photos were not spoiled by a grey morning – in fact, many photographers have mentioned that this weather brings out beautiful shades in their photos – not that I’m a photo pro! We’ll leave that to them!
All in all, you cannot beat Far North Queensland for tropical wedding destinations. It truly is a once in a life time experience 🙂
